Chapter 3: Plan 'A'… Kind of

“We have a mayor!” called out a loud boom of a voice from behind us once Michelle had finished speaking. We turned to face the tiny, pale midget who was, in fact, our mayor that we keep forgetting about. “It is I, and I do not wish to give up this land to you.” There were mumbles and nods of approval. Michelle squirted his eyes, his hands slowing moving onto his waist. There was a moment where the man dressed in gold with a silver cowboy hat only stared at the tiny midget who was beginning to make his way to the front of our crowd. The people parted as if that of the Red Sea as our forgettable mayor made his way up. The mayor stood and looked up at Michelle. Michelle formed a tiny smirk to the side of his face and the mayor replied with a one as well. Silence. People were looking at each other wondering what is going to be said next. Michelle’s people were doing the same as if this was a new experience for them. It could be, this is the first day we have met them so we don’t know how they work. All of a sudden Michelle flicked his right hand up and we went for our guns, well the ones who had them, but we froze since it was a sight we expected not. A gold bracelet went flying from Michelle’s hand and landed on the mayor’s face right between his eyes. He moved not… but then collapsed to his knees as his body looked as if it melted to the ground. A dark crimson pool of blood slowly made its way out of the little adult forehead; we all saw each other’s shocked faces in the reflection of the very recently living blood. Michelle fixed his bright hat as if he was waiting for the dramatic pause to pass. "If he can't catch gold he can't lead but I can do both,” said Michelle. We were beginning to think that this man was mad. Crazy even. Mad and crazy… is there a difference? Any way he aren’t well. “We have a sheriff!” another voiced yelled. We turned our heads to find the source and there she was, standing to the side and on the tip of her tiny toes: Mary the beautiful donkey-faced lady. She looked on proudly with a determined face while we stared at her blankly since this was news to us. We are a peaceful people; well we hide our issues so we needed not a sheriff, well I guess till then. But I also guessed Mary had a plan. She matched up to Michelle with her feet clapping the dry dirt at a small trail of yellow dust followed her heels. She stood in front of his horse and said: “He aren’t here, but he’ll be a back on the morrow if ya aren’t a chicken,” damn Mary were a smart one. Michelle nodded and turned his horse around. That horse walked to the back of the group where the handsome man was still standing after his donkey made a run for it. Michelle leaned down and whispered something to the man which made him run towards us while Michelle made his way away from us. Frighten we were not since there were many of us and one of him since his people just stood there as confused as ever. The man stopped: “We shall meet an hour after the rooster crows and may the fine sheriff be armed with luck… and a rifle!” He saluted us, turned around saluted them and pointed towards Michelle who was not that far away. The donkeys turned around and the handsome man got on the back of another. Friend, I may say not more of a… you know… love love? The women that figured that were not as pleased while others were more pleased. We wanted for them to leave and when they were a good amount of distances away we made our way to the city hall. Mary told us to go there so we did. We were all new to this. Even the day was unsure of what to do next so it decided to hide behind the moon and watch from a far.
