The Fox in the Pack House

Earth to Fox

“EARTH TO FOX! HELLO! Are you going to get out of the car at any point today Jenny is waiting in the car?” Cristy questioned while yelling at the car window. We didn’t live far from the pack house maybe ten minutes so how long was I sitting in the car I must have spaced out.

“Sorry cook I spaced out” I apologized as I jumped out of my car and start walking to Jen’s car.

“Your dad sent me to get you because he said you zooned out when things got tense, where do you go in that head of yours? You good? Are you going to pass on the party tonight?” Cristy said hitting me with a million questions at once. In usually Cristy fashion.

Cristy had short hair just like mine only hers was dark brown whereas mine was a light brown with lots of red, just like my fox fur. Cristy cut her hair to be like Pink! her favorite singer. She doesn’t have to worry about fighting like me because she is the betas youngest daughter. If anyone messed with her it was death and not because her daddy handled it. She handles problems head on.

One time in school a boy I was messing around with and broke up with was attacking me for calling him a “tool”. Which he totally was but I wasn’t the one that had said it, Cristy was, but no one wanted to mess with the beta’s daughter. No matter how well she hid her dominance behind pretty make-up we all know how strong she is. It was much easier for him to yell at the fox that no one really wants in the pack.

When Cristy heard him yelling from across the school yard the hateful words that were being throw at me she ran to my aid and fired hateful words of truth right back. When he wouldn’t back down, she shifted into her big ass pure white wolf. Beautiful and deadly ready to stain her fur with the blood of the weak. He never stood a chance against a Snover wolf and my best friend.

“The beta party is tonight?” Damn how could I forget that? “No, I’m not passing on your sisters’ big night! Plus, it’s the one time I get to wear a dress” I said jumping in the back of Jen’s car.

 “Hey Jenny” I lean in the front giving her a kiss on the check “thanks for the ride to school you excited for tonight?”

Her mate Cody is becoming the new beta so her father can step down. Our fathers never had any male children, so it falls on the mates of the girls to take over for our dads. Cristy will most likely have her mate take over for my dad because I can’t. Like I said they live in the damn stone age. Jenny is a strong capable wolf she runs a damn hospital for Christ sake. She is the chief, alpha of her own domain but no lets’ make Cody, a history teacher, the new beta. We all know who is really going to be running this s**t.

“I’m so excited I’m going to the salon after I drop you two off, so I can start getting ready.” Jen squeaked

“You have to start getting ready at 7 in the morning?” I questioned looking at the time on my phone. Christ how long did I zone out in that car for, I didn’t even get to eat. My stomach is going to be mad at me for that.

“I have to get my roots done, cut and color, make-up, dress fitted. Oh boy, do you think there will be enough time, the party starts at five?” Jenny looked worried in the front seat.

“That what you get for dying your hair platinum trying to match your wolf. You don’t see me dying my hair white to match mine. Also, you have nine hours to get yourself done how do you think we feel! Me and Fox over here don’t get out of class till two! We have to get done in three hours!” Cristy yelled at her sister.

Cristy and her sister just decided to keep yelling at each other the whole car ride to school, so me and the window became incredibly good friends. At times like these I am glad I’m an only child. I could not wait to get out of this car. Not that school was much better I had to risk running into Justin. He was this big hot shot in school we were seeing each other for a few years he was older than most of the wolves in school. He turned eighteen in the beginning of the school year and was able to find his mate. He kept telling me that the reason he could not find a mate was because he was meant to be with me. I cannot believe I fell for that s**t. Turns out his mate is a freshman that is too young to know who her mate is.

Wolves are very s****l creatures and the fact that he found his mate and would have to wait four years to claim her and have s*x drove him nuts. So, he figured why don’t I just use the fox she won’t have a mate, so I don’t have to worry about pissing anyone off if I sleep with her. Little did he know that once you find your mate if you sleep with someone else its physical pains you. Not saying that you can’t have s*x with someone that isn’t your mate, but the wolf half usually fights it. which makes having s*x not so enjoyable.

So basically, he was an eighteen-year-old wolf in top physical condition going to go on to become the packs head warrior trainer and he could not get it up or keep it up. So, he broke up with me, but didn’t want me telling the school that he couldn’t get it up so instead he told the school I was gay. Now he gets to keep his top wolf status and walk around with his mate, Reyna, and I can’t even get a wolf to touch me if I wanted to.

As we pull up to the front of the school, I pull a screaming Cristy out of the still moving car hoping to take the side entrance  and grab some food from the cafe before I have to see his face with her. I swear they both just pop up out of nowhere. A school of 500 wolves and they are around every corner. It also doesn’t help that I have a study period with Reyna and training with Justin an all the other worriers. I wanted to be the bigger person and act like I did not care but deep down it hurt. I wanted to be loved even if the s*x wasn’t that good. I just did not want to be alone forever. It is scary being alone. I thought he was going to be the closest I ever got to having a mate.

I used to get my hopes up that maybe he was really my mate and when I turned 18 it would be some big magical thing. That’s why I should never get my hopes up. Anytime I get my hopes up I get let down. The first time I got my hopes up I had myself marrying the alpha. His mother woke me up from that real quick. Now Justin. I guess foxes don’t get the happy ending.

“Where are you pulling me too? If you leave claw marks on me before this party tonight, I will hunt you down the next full moon!” Cristy wasn’t joking either she totally would. So, I let up on her wrist.

“Sorry cook I just don’t want to see them you know. Also, I zoned out and didn’t get breakfast this morning so I’m hoping to grab a coke and hash brown to hold me over.”

“Oh, why didn’t you say there was food involved, lets good.” Cristy said now grabbing me and leading me to the food.

“If I knew it was that easy to get you to do things, I’d make sure there was food every place we went” I said laughing at her dirty look.

“Do want me to leave you here and let you face Justin alone?”

“Nope I’m good, after you” I said holding the door to the café open.

“Now that’s more like it. Do you want to just stay at the pack house with me after school and we can get ready for the party together?” Cristy said perking up at the thought of the party.

“Yeah that sounds good you have a s**t ton of my clothes anyway, so I don’t need to go home for anything.” I grab my coke and a donut instead of the hash brown I originally wanted “hey do you think I can stay over? We have to plan our birthday party together might as well kill two birds with one stone?” I said as I walked right into a wall.

Only this wall was warm and wore nice sneakers. f**k! How does he just pop up EVERYWHERE! I didn’t want to look up at least let me eat first before my day gets ruined.

“Going for a donut I see. Might want to hold off on the sweats you won’t

be able to fit in to that dress tonight.” Justin said with such venom.

I could see Cristy shaking with anger next to me. I must stop this before things get bad. I don’t need Cristy wolfing out in the café.

“No, it’s ok, see I recently lost a hundred and ninety-five pounds of dead weight. My dress is going to fit perfectly” I said with just the right amount of sass, pulling Cristy out of the café before things got bad.

“Girl I envy you. I could feel him using his dominance to try and make you feel small and cower. It didn’t even faze you.” I could hear the aw in her voice

The truth is I could feel what he was doing. His dominance just kind of washes over me and down my back instead of crashing down on me and making me submit at his feet. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t bother me though. He wanted me to feel worthless and he was using pulls from the pack to do it. I’m not going to let him hurt me anymore. This fox has fangs too.

“Cristy this dress tonight has to be epic. I’m done playing nice.”

“Girl I’m so game. How about we skip and go find you the perfect dress because none of the ones I have in my closet will do that foxy body justice” Cristy said wiggling her eyebrows.

“Love the idea but we didn’t drive here remember? Your sister dropped us off, so we don’t have a car”

She just kept looking at her phone walking me around towards the back of the school entrance.

“Where are we going?” I ask snatching the phone out of her hands.

 “There is a uber on the corner,” snatching her phone back “your welcome now let’s go before anyone sees.”
