♛Chapter Three♛ Zayna: I felt my cold feet froze right on this ground. I inhaled deep. I was not used to this kind of lifestyle. “The party will start.. C’mon, hija.” My father called me. Sumunod ako rito papunta sa vip table. It’s a luxurious garden party—more like a business party as what my father conformed to me hours ago. “Ladies and gentlemen.” The spotlight was now on focused to my father’s side habang hawak-hawak nito ang wine glass. For a business toast. I was wearing a long sleeve black gown with a V-lace on my chest adorned with little real diamonds—kita rin ang cleavage ko pero ‘di masyadong halata dahil sa lace so, it’s fine with me. Sabi nga ng bakla kanina, I looked like a long lost real princess.. Am I? Tss.. I found the last piece of my puzzle yet I lost my heart. God knows where it was.. Just as I glimpsed at the entrance, I was blitzed with emotions—h-he’s here! Ylejah’s here..? Our eyes met—that silent fury I received when we met in the same vantage point. My father elatedly glanced at me. I had to loosen my constricted stare, away from the two.. Relax, Zayna! Oh my God.. How can I be relaxed..? “Tonight is no ordinary night—this a rebirth of my empire as I introduced to you my one and only daughter—the new CEO of De Villa & Cruise..” Then the limelight and all the murmured exhilaration swapped on me. “Dearest comrades in the society, friends, guests, and visitors.. I am very proud to present to you, my one and only daughter—Zayna De Villa..” A loud applause cheered on us and seconds, I was blinded by the camera lights here and there. “Cheers, hija!” Masayang wika ni papa. I reluctantly drank but I think I really need to. I know, he’s closely watching.. Hindi ko maiwasang ‘di kabahan! “Ortega. Glad you made it..” Huh!? Nasa likuran ko ba siya? My father was looking as if he’s behind me and I guess, he was! Gustong lumundag ng puso ko.. He went away for weeks, the night he came was the night I had to run away. You can’t blame my heart if it jumped like this! At siya kaya? No.. He didn’t feel anything on me.. He felt hatred and disgust.. And I chose not to turned around and greet him! “De Villa.” God.. I missed his voice! Though it was full of warning and caution. Para pa rin akong napako sa kinatatayuan ko ngayon—how I wish I was melted since he laid his scorching glare on my back! “Nanay..?” As if, I’ll do something monstrous against the child! “Nanay, I..I miss you po!” My heart just melted away.. “My daughter missed her nanny.” This beautiful child was wearing her beautiful princess-like dress.. “Don’t cause a scene here in my territory, Ortega.” My father intercepted and gave him sharp words. I took a quick glance of the two bago ako nagsalita. I felt their blood boiling at each other.. “Papa, why won’t you greet Mr. Ortega here while I’ll take a walk with this little princess here?” I tried to be elated in front of the child and silently thanked his father—na isinama niya ang bata. I didn’t anticipate that papa Martin would invite him. But the two seemed a tough rivals..Mukhang maayos naman silang nag-uusap ni papa. *** Ylejah: How could it be possible? She’s the lost daughter of De Villa? She was wearing this elegant yet demure style of a black gown—truly resembled of her power. Zayna De Villa.. The long lost daughter of my greatest rival. This man who always pissed the hell of me! Why the hell she kept on trailing the opposite side? What surprised me was when this old man invited me to have a private talk here in his private office. What is it this time? I have nothing to negotiate with this man! I have came here for..her! “I want to talk to Zayna—please excuse me.” I was just wasting my time in here. I was coaxed to present myself since this old man told me, Zayna’s here. Believe me, she’s the only person I wanted to see and talk—I wanted to know everything about her! She ought to tell me the truth. But before I stood up from the chair, Martin blurted.“If you wanted to know if my daughter really took part of that terrorist group—yes, she did but because she got no choice.” He knew? Napakuyom ako sa’king kamao. Tiningnan ko siya ng masama. “I don’t have time to discuss private matters with you, Martin De Villa—“ “Goddamn pride.” Thinking that this man was Zayna’s father? Damn it! Martin here opened his laptop and turned it for me to see. “What the hell is that?” I was alarmed. Puro mga CCTV footages ang nasa screen. “Shut up and watch till the end. Only then you can put your verdict against my daughter.” Then I played the first cctv footage at the airport. I instantly noticed my..my late wife approached someone.. F**k, I knew him! That’sChris—Alana’s paranoid ex-boyfriend. Anong ginagawa nito sa airport? I saw him grabbed my wife’s arm and kissed her—what the hell? I instantly felt the rush of my blood. In the video, Alana gladly accepted the kiss and then turned away. That’s the time when she told me she’d use the f***ing toilet! No.. No way! There’s no way that she planned everything—that she and Chris.. ? The f**k! “Guess you have a better view now, Mr. Ortega? Play the next video.” That was Martin who seemed enjoying my every reaction. So I did play the next video. “Two disguised women who planted the bomb. The one who planted wasn’t Zayna but her companion. You can see there that Zayna’s standing meters away from the passenger’s area.” Ito na mismo ang nagsalita habang pinapanood ko ang video footage kung saan parang nalagutan na rin ako ng buhay nang makita ko na wala ng mala yang dugoang si Alana.. Napalunok ako. I scrutinized the other videos that proved that..Zayna didn’t plant the bomb and Chris and Alana had something to do with that bombing incident.. F**k! Oh God..! “You may dig deep about this case, Mr. Ortega but this time—it’s about your late wife. Then, leave my daughter alone.”
