Ride Into Danger

When I got to my apartment, it was almost 4pm and I needed to finish the article before 7pm. I shoved aside everything I needed to do and went to work.

By two hours time, I was done. With one hour to spare, I decide to add a little bit of professional touch to it and do the editing myself without send it to my assistant.

My wall clock read 6:28pm when I finished everything. I got up from my desk and walked towards my bed, throwing my body onto it.

Just then, my phone chimed. I picked it up and opened the first text. It was from my mom and it read.

[I hope you arrived safely. I got the cleaning company and they will send workers over to your place tomorrow morning. PS: Love you. Mom]

I scrolled down to the next message and it hit me immediately I saw the name. It was Eliot. [Hey man. Are you coming]

“Sh*t. I almost forgot”

I plugged my phone to charge a bit, took a quick shower, dressed up casually and left. A few minutes later, I drove Into the Grid Valley parking lot inside the university of Ghana campus. I saw Conan, Eliot and Miranda’s cars parked side by side with each othe and I parked right beside Eliot’s. As soon as I stepped out, a little burning light on the far side of the Grid valley building with a light music coming from the direction caught my attention. I walked towards my friends whom I haven’t seen for over a month.

“Well, well, guess who’s here” Eliot who noticed me first announced my presence.

”Wtf” that was the general reaction. Clearly my presence was a surprise which meant that Eliot didn’t tell them I’d be there. Before I could even react, Somebody jumped into my arms and I caught her right up before we both could fall. We hugged a few seconds before she pulled back.
