"Find me? Why were you looking for me?"
"When we met at Uilliam's castle, you recognized me, but I didn't get the chance to ask your name. I thought the locals might have some information about you. They gave me two names, but I was still hoping I had stumbled upon your castle."
"Did it not occur to you that it might not have been my lair you wandered into?"
"I did consider that, but I didn't think it would put my life in danger."
"Hahaha. You do live in a bubble, Your Highness. It's time to face the fact that we don't inhabit a world of innocence."
"I get that, but I choose to see the good in everyone I encounter, even those who might not have the best intentions, whether they're human or beast."
"Hah! Not everyone shares your purity, Your Highness. For beings like us, trying to control the beast within, your presence isn't exactly a help."
"I may not always be of assistance to your kind, but I can be useful to you in other ways."
Ioulos studied her closely, and to break the tension, he asked if she had finished her meal. "Are you done eating yet?"
"Oh, yes. I've sampled every dish that was prepared for me, and they were all delicious. Thank you."
"Great. Would you like me to give you a tour?"
"That would be wonderful," the princess replied, rising to follow Ioulos.
Ioulos led the princess outside to admire the stunning exterior of his castle, and Princess Genoa was captivated by its enchanting design, complete with charming turrets and vibrant colors. The blend of natural beauty and architectural splendor made it one of the most breathtaking castles she had ever encountered.
"I enjoyed spending time with you today; thank you," the princess expressed.
"I'm delighted to hear that, Your Highness," Ioulos replied.
"Is it alright if I call you Ioulos?" She asked.
"I would be honored, Your Highness," he responded with a smile.
"Now that I know where you live, I feel like I'd love to visit you every day," the princess joked playfully.
"Haha! I'm not sure if that's the best idea, Your Highness, but you're always welcome," he chuckled.
"After next week, I might not be able to come as often," she said with a hint of sadness.
"Why is that, Your Highness?" he inquired.
"Prince Yaakov, to whom I've been betrothed since birth, is coming next week, and that means our wedding will be finalized. I'll have to move to Lurvey Palace, as he is set to be its future king."
"Ah, I understand. That is how it should be, Your Highness," he acknowledged.
"I know, and I'm thankful I got to know you before I became a wife. That's why I thought I'd visit you every day until Prince Yaakov arrives. If you're free, of course."
"Oh, I have no plans this week, so yes, you can come by," he assured her.
"That's wonderful!" The princess exclaimed joyfully. "But I think I should head back now; it's getting late."
"I apologize for keeping you, Your Highness. Allow me to escort you back and watch over you until you reach the palace," he offered.
"That would be fantastic, Ioulos. Thank you once more for today, and I'll see you tomorrow." With that, the princess began her journey home, and true to her word, Ioulos flew above her, ensuring she arrived safely.
As Princess Genoa stepped into the palace, Ioulos felt a wave of relief wash over him, and he quickly made his way back to his castle. The thought of her returning the next day filled him with a mix of excitement and anxiety, leaving him unsure of how to prepare. "Maybe I should whip up another batch of meals for her," he mused. "Or perhaps a lovely gift, like a dress. There's not much to show her around my castle or the grounds, so maybe I could share my jewel collection instead. This is all a bit overwhelming. What have I gotten myself into?"
Meanwhile, Princess Genoa couldn't help but smile to herself after leaving Ioulos' castle, and the anticipation of returning the next day made her heart flutter with joy. "What should I ask him? Will he let me explore the secret passageways of his castle?" she pondered. "Could I ride with him and experience the thrill of flying? Where might our adventures take us? What could I bring him besides gold?"
Morning arrived, and Ioulos stood patiently outside Doersam Palace. The moment he heard the sound of Princess Genoa's horse approaching, he quickly made his way to her side, eager to accompany her to his castle. By the time the princess reached Ioulos' castle, he was already there, ready to welcome her.
"Good day, Your Highness," Ioulos said with a smile.
"Good day to you as well, Ioulos," Princess Genoa replied warmly.
"Please, come inside." He gestured for her to enter and led her into the castle.
"Thank you," the princess said, following him through the grand entrance.
"I stopped by town and picked up a little something for you. I hope you'll like it," Ioulos said, pointing to the gift he had set aside.
"Oh, how exciting! I don't even know what it is yet, but I already love it." The princess's face lit up with delight. "Can I open it now?"
"Of course! Go right ahead."
With eager hands, the princess opened the box and gasped in surprise at the sight of a stunning layered gown crafted from fine linen, adorned with intricate embroidery and sparkling gemstones. She carefully lifted it out to admire its design. The main fabric was a rich burgundy cotton, making the dress both elegant and versatile. The bodice featured a deep neckline and side lacing that hugged her figure beautifully, creating a flattering silhouette. The gown boasted distinctive puffed sleeves and fitted high cuffs embellished with charming little buttons, allowing her to adjust the fit as needed. The skirt flowed gracefully, wide, and luxuriously.
