Dante’s POV The clubhouse was too quiet. That was the first thing that struck me when I pushed open the front doors and stepped inside. Normally, midmorning brought the familiar chaos—guys laughing, pool balls clacking, the smell of grease and oil drifting in from the garage. But now, it was different. A stillness clung to the air, sharp and unnatural, like the calm before a storm. I stood there for a moment, scanning the common room. Talon was by the bar, flipping through paperwork with a scowl that carved lines into his face.
