Chapter 11 A Hint On Secret

"I now see why the Luna was sad when I mentioned her friends." She added. "You mentioned that?” I asked. "Yes," she replied. "Once the Silverleaf arrives, I don't mind working overnight to create an antidote. We need to start preparing ourselves against future attacks that can result in loss of life. Pending the time our order arrives, I have some Wolfsbane in the pack lab, and I'll see if I can work an antidote out." I smiled, impressed by her dedication. "That's more like you," I said, acknowledging her tireless work ethic as a doctor because she can treat patients non-stop for a week without getting tired because she value lives. "Thanks, Your Majesty," she responded, her voice laced with gratitude. "Why overseeing tasks in the medical lab, focus on checking on Ember and seeing to her needs. You can give orders to your team, so you won't overwork yourself." I continued. "Noted, King," she replied, her tone obedient. "Lastly, you'll be changing quarters to the one opposite this one, so Ember can easily access you." I added. "Okay, King," she replied, her compliance evident. "Good," I said. "I guess I'll need to recruit more assistants from the available personnel in my hospitals in the country." She declared her plan. It is okay to say none of my high-ranking officials is poor; they are all rich, and that includes Ivy. “You don't have adequate helping hands in the pack lab? I asked. "Yes. Most especially now that I will get busy protecting your woman," she responded. “I will also assign another assistant to her, in case you get busy and need time to get things done” I added. "You don't really need to worry about that, even though you can proceed with that. I've found her words comforting, and I don't mind being with her 24 hours a day," she murmured. “Don't get lazy because of the task I gave you” I cautioned, and she chuckled. "I won't, I promise, King," she replied.. “Anyway, staying with her is a task in itself” I said. “I will take my leave,” I replied, heading out. “Don't forget to check on her while you're busy in the lab,” I reminded her, walking out. "Okay, King," she replied softly to my back. Fast Forward "Meet me at my secret basement of the mansion," I declared, dropping my phone. The route to the secret basement was located in my private quarter that speaks wealth, a sprawling space comprising multiple rooms, including a large sitting room, large dining room, large bedroom, and several others without designated functions. As I entered my quarter, a lavish sitting room unfolded before me. Access to this area was strictly limited to a trusted cleaner, my sister, and a select few. I navigated through a side door in the sitting room, leading to a storage room where I kept my arsenal. From there, I accessed the secret basement. Soon, Rho arrived. "Your Majesty, how's your planning progressing?" he inquired, his eyes scanning the strategy board. "Have a seat," I replied, settling into my chair. Rho sat opposite me, the chessboard between us set for a game. I made an opening move, and he responded promptly, shifting a piece on the board. "The plan is coming along just fine. Now that my plan to get Ember as a mere pawn into my board has finally worked with no issue" I thought aloud as I moved a pawn on the chessboard. "So what's next?" He asked, moving a piece. "I need to eliminate Alpha Kenji of the Southern Werewolf territory" I stated, taking out one of his pieces. "Wow. I wasn't expecting that move from your Knight" He declared. "He deserves to die anyway" He added, his gaze locked intensely on mine before making his next move. "I would have preferred to send one of my Knights to attack him, but then I would be taking the role as the King. Is his crime severe enough" I countered, moving another piece in the chess game as I gained the upper hand. Rho was well aware of who I referred to as my Knights; he was among them, and also a Beta could be considered a Knight. To show a little respect, I referred to them as Higher Knights. "King Kenji," He suddenly declared with a chuckle. "King Kenji of the Southern Werewolf territory, my foot." "That's why I chose my words carefully," I responded, deliberately addressing him by his true title of Alpha, rather than the fake title of King, he bestow himself. "I will be putting him in his place when I meet him," I stated, moving a piece to set a trap. "It's good to see that the first step towards your goal has been completed," He observed, falling into my trap by taking out my pawn. I seized the opportunity to destroy his Knight and infiltrate his defense. "Wow, I just fell victim to your trap," He admitted, choosing his next move carefully to defend his King. "I recall when we were both thinking on how to get Ember," He said suddenly, staring at me, and I couldn't help but chuckle. Flashback Location: Secret Basement "How the heck will I explain that I want Ember, a mere servant, to be my mate?" I yelled in frustration, collapsing onto the floor as Rho followed. "They'll probably think I've gone crazy, settling for someone as lowly as a servant," I added, exasperation evident in my voice. "You can't take that approach... it may tarnish the way people perceive you," Rho cautioned. "Or they may even start suspecting you," He added. "I know, you know," I responded, meeting his gaze. "Our plan has been unfolding smoothly, and we've managed to corner Firepack for their crimes," Rho said, his frustration palpable. "Well, why don't I just go for the Alpha's daughter, and her personal servant will automatically follow?" I suggested. "Yeah, she sure will," Rho replied with relief. "They've been together almost all their lives.” "Yeah, you're right... But then, in the worst-case scenario, what if they decide she's not following her?" I thought aloud, frustration simmering just below the surface. "This is serious," He responded. "I guess we're at a dead end with this idea too,” "Yeah, we are," I replied. "Well, if that happens, why don't we just kidnap her?" Rho suggested casually. "You deserve a good knock on the head," I retorted, as he burst out laughing. "My bad," He replied, stifling his laughter. "But we are planning to kidnap...?" He trailed off, uncertainty creeping into his voice. "That's different," I replied, my gaze cold. "He deserve death." "Either way, I'll kidnap her for you if it comes to that," He offered, as I turned my attention to the plan board, my expression unreadable. But I didn't care about his methods. To me, she was just a pawn, a mere means to an end, a tool to fulfill my desires. Flashback ends "I would have loved to be the Knight to kill the Alpha," He added, as I successfully recalled the memory. "Care to join me?" I asked. "I'll be paying him a visit tonight," I stated, standing up. "Let's move," I said, gesturing for him to follow. "We'll finish the game later." "Okay, your Majesty," He replied, as we began walking out. "Alpha Kenji is currently in Windsor City for a business meeting and to secure a massive contract," I updated Rho, as we walked. "He entered the city undercover, using a different registered name." "Tsk," He scoffed. "He thinks he's invisible. The scoundrel doesn't know that there's nowhere in this country and werewolf territory at large where we don't have influence to find him, let alone our city.” "He also came with heavy protection and we'll be paying him a visit at my 5-Star Hotel," I declared, as we continued walking. "Which of the Five Stars?" He asked, aware that there were multiple options. This city was one of the most developed in the world. "Emerald," I replied. "Wow, I had no idea you owned that incredible hotel," He exclaimed. "Well, I'd be naive to think I knew all the properties you owned, both within the country and abroad," He added. "Will you be able to fight with your hand in this condition?" I asked, concern etched in my voice. "I'm almost fully healed," He replied, and I chose not to argue with him, already formulating what I will do in my mind. As I stepped out of the mansion, the Ferrari F80 I had requested using my phone was already waiting for me. "King Valtor," Willow called out, emerging from inside the mansion. "Why won't you let me in on your plan?" She asked, fully aware of my goal, but not the details or plans of how I intended to achieve it. "It's because you're my little sister," I replied. "Same answer, huh?" She retorted, speaking to my back. "You'll lend me your strength when I need it, but for now, sit back and watch me achieve it," I said, my words filled with determination, as I got into the sports car. My mission, desire, and main goal were top-secret, not because I didn't want to share them with her, but because it could put her in danger. The hidden desire, known only to a select few, was perilous, and I didn't want to involve more than Rho until it was absolutely necessary. As Rho drove, I finalized the plans for Alpha Kenji's assassination. "Is he wrapping up the meeting now?" I asked over the phone. "Yes, sir... He's heading to the Presidential Suite 3 now," her voice responded. "Good," I replied. "How many minutes until we reach the hotel?" I asked Rho, as he checked the location route linked to Google Maps. "Just 15 minutes," he replied. "Ensure the CCTV cameras are down in the next 15 minutes," I instructed, intent on keeping the assassination a secret, except for those who might suspect my involvement which I don't care about. "Okay, sir," she replied, before ending the call. Rho pulled into the hotel, and I prepared for action. "Stay in the car," I ordered. "But I need to cover for you," Rho protested, unwilling to accept my decision to go alone. "It's a royal order," I replied firmly. "Okay, Your Majesty," Rho replied, as I stepped out of the car. "Have you tampered with the cameras yet?" I asked calling her again, seeking confirmation. "I have, Your Majesty," she replied. She is one of my most trusted allies in the pack and, I knew I could rely on her. I decided to change my mask, remembering that I had left a black cloth mask in the car from my last use. Attacking Alpha Kenji in the hotel was a risky move, that may damage the hotel's reputation for protection, but I needed to speak with him before his death, if not I would have ambushed him. As I approached the suite, I wondered, "But why aren't there any guards?" Suddenly, Maria appeared before me. Harriet’s POV I stared out of the window into the dark sky of my unfamiliar new room, catching a glimpse of a black bird - a bat. My hand drifted to my stomach, gently rubbing over my growing cub, even as my eyes remained fixed outside. Though I seemed to be watching the night, my mind was busy, calculating my next move. What action would I take? Which ones would I avoid? And when would be the perfect time to strike against Ember, my greatest enemy? Just as I tore my gaze from the sky and settled it on the woods beyond my window, a smile crept across my face as I finalized how miserably Ember would end in my hands. But then all of a sudden my breath hitched. A shiver ran through me as I caught sight of a mysterious creature. Its eyes glowed with a crimson light, yet the faint moonlight failed to reveal its body. What was it? Who was it? And what did it want?
