Faceless King POV
"Maria," I called out.
"There's no need to worry about the guards anymore," She stated, she was the one I had contacted about disabling the CCTV cameras.
"You've taken care of them, I presume?" I asked with a neutral tone.
"Yes," Maria replied, her eyes flashing with anger. It was a sentiment I understood, given the horrors she had endured in Alpha Kenji's pack.
Flashback
"So, what did you find out about Maria, Rho?" I asked.
"She was treated as a slave, a tool for s****l pleasure," He explained. "The entire pack treated her like trash before she managed to escape. That's when you found her".
Flashback end.
"They all deserve to die," Maria added, her voice venomous.
"I know, Delta Maria. It's okay," I replied, offering her a reassuring smile. She had shared her painful past with me herself, after I had first learned about it from Rho.
I stepped closer and wrapped her in a brief, comforting hug. Her anger seemed to dissipate slightly as she leaned into me. I was good at providing solace, I thought to myself as I chuckled.
"How were you able to take them out so quickly?" I asked, impressed.
"Even though I admit you're now strong after adequate training," I added.
"Poison," Maria replied, her tone matter-of-fact.
"What about their bodies?" I asked.
"Once you're done with Alpha Kenji in his room, I'll dispose of them," she replied.
"What about his contractor?" I asked.
"Already left," Maria replied.
"I'd love to see him dead," she added, a cold glint in her eye.
I walked into Alpha Kenji's presidential suite, and he noticed my presence. He turned to face me, his eyes flicking towards me with a hint of surprise.
"Faceless King?" He declared, his voice filled with doubt, unsure if it was truly me behind the mask, for the one I wore was distinctly different from my signature golden mask.
"Before you die, permit me to tell you of your crimes," I declared, my tone cold and detached.
"And what makes you think I'm weak, Faceless King?" He retorted. "Don't underestimate me."
"You made life difficult for one of my girls, who used to be a member of your pack," I replied.
"What did you expect?" He sneered, his eyes gleaming with contempt as he clearly knew who I was referring to. "She's nothing but a collateral I took for peace sake from a weak pack," he spat, his voice heavy with disdain.
"She is not," I countered with a firm tone. "Now, to your second crime: you decided to separate the werewolf territory by becoming the Alpha of the Southern Werewolf territory. You call yourself a King, but you're not worthy of that title, as it goes against werewolf law."
"I don't care," he retorted, his expression unrepentant. "I have followers, and I was able to take over the southern part of the werewolf territory with my influence."
"And finally," I continued.
"you took the position meant for me in the WBU by engaging in corruption and seeking favor from Council Royal - King Rainlight, despite not being the strongest werewolf.”
"King Rainlight of the WBU doesn't want you to become a Councillor because you're unpredictable," Alpha Kenji declared, a sly smile spreading across his face.
"I'm aware," I replied with unreadable expression.
"So, once you die, I'll take over the position," I added, as he seems very confident.
I charged at him instantly, our speeds on full display as we clashed in a flurry of offense and defense. We broke away from each other, our movements lightning-fast.
"Don't think I'll go down that easily," Alpha Kenji snarled, his eyes flashing with determination. "I'm the second-strongest werewolf on record. And although you defeated me to become the Werewolf King, don't think I haven't improved since then."
"I don't know how to underestimate," I replied, my tone cold and detached. "So, I'll be coming at you with full force.”
"Then let's end this already," he retorted, his voice firm and commanding.
Thoughts:
(I thought to myself, "He's strong, no doubt, but my earlier threat to come at him with full force might alert and cause panic to those in the hotel. How can I take him down quickly and quietly?")
(I had brought a silent pistol with Wolfsbane-tipped bullets. That's it, I will resort to using it to kill him quickly.)
He looked at me with surprise, expecting me to attack him.
"As we fight, we risk creating noise. If we go all out here," I murmured, my eyes locked on his. "I'll end your life quickly to avoid drawing attention to us.”
He sneered, his expression mocking. "And how did you plan to do that? You could have chosen a better place to attack me before making this mistake."
I charged at him, my plan set in motion. My elongated claw swiped through the air, and he dodged as expected. He countered, but I evaded his attack with ease. I unleashed a fierce kick, which he blocked, stumbling backward.
"If you come at me with this speed, I'll be forced to kill you quickly, no matter who knows. You are the bad guy in this context," he replied.
To this, he charged at me with full force, sending claws at me as I repelled and dodged those attacks as quickly as possible.
"I need to end this quickly," I thought, as his claws came straight for my waist. I could avert the attack, but then again, I needed to kill him quickly. In that stance, I let his claws penetrate me as I grabbed him into my embrace quickly, bringing out the silent pistol as I shot him in the back.
"You should know better than anyone to think a gun can kill me," he replied, as I pushed him away from my embrace and sent him a back kick that shifted him back a bit.
I am bleeding, I thought, looking at my side where he stabbed continually. It will heal up anyway.
"I said I'll end your life quickly. I was not joking when I said that," I replied.
He suddenly groaned in pain, his eyes widening in shock. "What's this feeling?" he gritted through clenched teeth.
"What did you do to the gun?" he asked, his eyes reddening as intense pain coursed through his body.
"Don't tell me it's Wolfsbane," he spat in pain. "I thought it was banned in all werewolf territory. And you also rejected the appeal to use it again."
He suddenly yelled out in pain as he fell to one knee. "You are a coward" he snarled, his face twisted in agony.
"I'm not," I replied, "and you can't defeat me to begin with. This is my hotel, after all."
A surprise look still lingered on his face, etched with pain. "That's why I said I want to kill you quickly," I added, shooting him in his leg.
He yelled out in pain once more. The suite was soundproof.
"Thank goodness the suite is soundproof, but it's not fight-proof for powerful Alphas like us, because the building will shake if we fight with full force. "So I am just considering my customers," I added.
"Let me let you in on this... I support the ban on Wolfsbane because of bad guys using it against werewolves to kill them quickly, and we all know it can also kill Alphas. I would have approved of it being used by good guys against bad guys like you, but I know better than to accept that. Because of the high percentage of bad users, I believe the ban is necessary,” I explained, as Maria walked in.
"Maria," he forced himself to say as he saw her walk in.
"Did you know I was the manager of this hotel?" she asked, closing the door behind her.
"How will... I know," he forced out, spitting blood from his mouth in agony. "You are useless, nothing but a tool for pleasure’s sake. I am sure Valtor is the one popping your cherry now. He is your new master."
"Well, that tool for pleasure’s sake is about to end you," she retorted, striding over to me as I handed her the gun.
"Do you have any last words for your bodyguards — the ones who fell by my hand?" she demanded, lifting the gun and aiming squarely at his head.
He raised his face, shock flashing in his eyes because of the revelation before he muttered hoarsely,
"Valtor…" He called out to me. "I handed her over to you… as pleasure tool."
The shot rang out instantly. She pulled the trigger without hesitation, and his body hit the marble floor with a lifeless crash.
Suddenly, she collapsed onto one knee, trembling as though her strength had drained from her body.
"What’s wrong?" I asked, crouching beside her. Before I could reach for her arm, she lunged forward, wrapping herself around me. I froze, then allowed the embrace. She clung to me desperately, her body shivering as though she feared I would vanish from her grasp.
Her voice broke in a whisper against my ear.
"I want you…”
