The manager called all the staff in the label together. He was a bit surprised that many of the staff still remained.
"How is it that so many of the staff still stayed?" he asked, looking at the manager.
"Well, it’s like this—they’re a bit different from the artists, you know. We used to have seven artists signed to our label, but they were all poached by rival labels offering lots of promises.
That label is much bigger than ours. Recently, they’ve been in a legal fight with some of their old artists who claimed they were being exploited, so many of them left. Since they didn’t have time to start scouting for new talents, they went after our desperate artists and offered them a bunch of advance money.
And to be fair, artists usually perform better under their label than ours."
