Saturday is another sunny, glorious Winnipesaukee day. Su and I paddle our canoe past shoreline homes, coves, and inlets. “Now we’re in sync,” Su says from the back of the boat. She’s the captain, while I’m her first mate seated up front. She paddles on one side of the canoe, and I paddle on the other. We’ve got a rhythm going, with both paddles sweeping through the water at the exact same time. “Where are we going?” “It’s just up here a little farther. You’re going to like this place.” I have no idea what lies ahead, but I can’t wait to see what’s around the bend. “Here we are!” Su says as she steers the canoe into a secluded cove.
