"You can go with your father, but you have to remember what I have taught you. Do not talk unless you are talked to. Listen to adults. And you better eat what they give you. You don't tell him anything about our lives. Our lives is private," I hear Clara says. She does not even sound like a mother to me. Other mothers will tell their children that they love the them. They will tell the children that they are important to them and that I have to be safe and listen to their father. They will ensure that I have enough clothes and a toy or something to calm them down when they miss their mother. However, not Clara. She does not even give Timothy a kiss when she hands him over to me. She hardly says goodbye, she just closes the door behind us before we even turned around to walk
