Lunch Time

Maya watched Josh make his way into the house. He must have forgotten about his run that quickly. She spent a couple of hours deep cleaning the pool house before her body temperature rose. "Well, perfect timing." She put away the clearing products and ran a cool bath. She poured a glass of lemonade and grabbed a book off one of the shelves. Then she poured rose-scented bath oils into the tub and twisted her long hair on top of her head before sliding into the water. He set out several dressings and wondered when Maya would be coming in. He put the salad on the table, laid out two settings, and made a pitcher of sweet tea. She still hadn't arrived, so he decided to go look for her. He walked into the pool house just as she was stepping out of the bathroom, wrapped in a fluffy bathrobe. "Hey, lunch is ready. I was worried since you hadn't made it to the house, so I went looking. Are you okay?" Maya walked up to him and he took her in his arms.

"I just can't seem to find any relief. I'm on fire and my stomach hurts. I spent a long time in a cool bath and everything, but it's just not going away this time." Josh placed a kiss on her forehead and found she was burning up. With one hand on her hip and the other on the back of her neck, he pulled her completely up against him. She buried her head in his neck and gave a little whimper as the pain hit her again. "It's okay, that's what I'm here for. To help you when it gets to be too much." He used the crook of his finger to tilt her chin up and kissed her deeply. He untied the belt that was loosely knotted at her waist and slipped his hands around her naked body. Somewhere out there was his Luna, and he deserved to have the one the Goddess chose for him at his side. As much as she wanted him to choose her, she didn't believe that would ever happen.
