BACK ON THEIR SHIP, Ling and Mei went directly to their individual quarters to review the documents they had received from the Roman several days prior. In them Aurelia had indeed outlined the previous day’s events as a possible strategy on the island, including brief mention of the planting of Roman evidence and the use of the poison on the Daos. Aurelia even mentioned psychological studies and other research that suggested that such a ploy would be effective. Ling did not like being so easily second-guessed or manipulated by Aurelia, but she saw the greater good. It was her gift that, in her own strange way, she was able to see the larger picture.
