There was great jubilation following Liao’s day-ending tournament match. He was the crowd’s favorite, but it had appeared the day would end with his second tournament defeat and subsequent elimination from the competition. The unique manner of his victory would be the stuff of songs and stories for years to come whether he took home the Champion Standing title or not. Liao had come a long way in a very short time, and the people were behind their champion now regardless of what the next day’s match brought. After all, no one really expected Liao to get as far as he had, so a loss at the hands of the defending champion would neither surprise or upset anyone.
