ARIA POV
Roman stood in the living room looking at me. I could see pure anger rising in his face. My narrowed eyes and mouth tensed up. "What has happened?" he queried in low, menacing tones that sent all-tension-in-air shivers through me. He is shouting mad suddenly at me. Fear surged through me instantly. Calm down or the affair would have gotten out of hand, I thought to myself.
I took a deep breath and tried to collect my thoughts. "Nothing," I said, trying to sound cool and unconcerned. I threw myself around quickly, escaping affectedly into the guest room, locking the door behind me. I lay down on the bed, my heart still racing with a confrontation from earlier. The tension had not yet faded with that moment, and I found myself tossing and turning yet still unable to sleep.
