All You Need Is Love

Chapter 7

                                                                  (Desire)

We pull up to the school and to my surprise Jacari doesn't ditch me.

I thought someone of his reputation wouldn't want to be seen with me.

I should really stop judging him based on what I heard.

He has clearly shown me that there's much more to him than that.

The stares we get as we walk to the cafeteria together are almost unbearable for me.

I feel like Tupac because literally all eyes are on me.

Or at least that's what it feels like.

I bet they are trying to figure out in their minds why the hell Jacari Lockwood is walking with me.

The girl who has the abusive boyfriend or is always getting her ass whooped.

People have their own assumptions on what may or may not be happening to me.

I hear it all.

No one knows the truth.

I feel a sense of relief as we finally enter the cafeteria for breakfast.

I search around with my eyes for Jayda.

I spot her at our table staring at me wide-eyed.

"Jacari I'll see you in arts" I say.

"Alrighty then" he says then we part ways.

I go and join Jayda at the table.

"How did that happen?" She asks with this confused expression on her face.

"I don't know .. he just offered me a ride to school" I say without going into too much detail.

"Are you two secretly dating or something?" She asks.

"No" I say shocked at her question.

I doubt Jacari does or will ever see me in that way.

"Oh okay because he is definitely not someone you should be dating" she says but she's the one who gave him my number.

I know it had to be her because no one else has my number.

But I'm glad she did though.

I probably wouldn't be here right now.

"You don't know him Jayda" I say.

I really don't know him like that either but I don't want her judging him.

"Whatever just be careful with whatever you have going on with him" she says.

When I enter arts I see Jacari already sitting in our station.

I go and sit beside him.

I'm sure we have a lot to catch up on but I'm hoping he did at least some of the assignment.

"Class sit down get settled quickly and get to working on your assignment. Remember it's due Friday" Mrs.Flowers says then sits down at her desk.

"How much did you do?" I ask Jacari.

"To be honest I didn't even start. Mrs.Flowers said I couldn't do anything without you and you missed a whole week so we way behind" he says.

"Darn .. so we have a week to do a project everybody else had 2 weeks to do..."

"How are we suppose to do that?" I ask.

"We can work on it after school" he says.

"How?" I ask.

He definitely cannot come to my house.

"You can come to my house after school today" he says.

"I don't know you like that." I say.

"Fail then" he says.

"You sure your parents won't mind" I ask.

He ignores my question in fact he doesn't even look my way.

"Just be ready after school" he says.
