Since the day we parted at the beginning of the year at the front of her home door, my heart has been in turmoil. Thoughts of her consumed me. I found no peace unless I heard her melodic voice over the phone or saw her face-to-face. This brought us closer, to the point where she sensed my deep affection for her.
One day, I remember meeting her at Hills and Valley Park. She was dressed in a stunning white blouse that showcased her graceful figure and tight trousers that accentuated her curves. Beautiful Sasa had on a large pair of black glasses that perfectly complemented her face.
She was sitting on a bench, enjoying ice cream while fiddling with her phone. From afar, I spotted her. A smile spread across my face and a wave of happiness washed over me. I eagerly made my way towards her. I don't know what happened that day, but I felt like I finally had the courage to speak to her about what was on my mind.
With calmness and joy, I approached where she was sitting. Quietly, I circled around behind her without her noticing and gently covered her eyes, giving her a slight hug.
She smiled and said, "From the scent of this delightful perfume, I know my Brian is close by..."
I laughed as I released her eyes and complimented her, "You look beautiful my pretty damsel. Your outfit suits you perfectly."
She smiled, showing her appreciation. She pointed to a chair in front of her, inviting me to sit.
I felt a great sense of happiness as I sat down, facing her. For a moment, I was speechless, just staring at her without blinking. She looked up from her phone and gave me a smile that pierced straight into my heart, deepening my affection for her.
I returned her smile. She placed her phone on the small table in front of us, took a sip of her ice cream, and then took a deep breath. Removing her glasses, which revealed her bright eyes, she looked at me and asked, "Brian, why are you so quiet, just staring at me?"
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the park, I turned to her with a gentle smile.
"Sasa," I began, my voice trembling slightly, "I don’t know where to start or how you'll perceive what I am about to tell you...it is straight away from my mind and what I feel about you..." I little bit paused as my heart beat increased double the normal heart beat.
She looked at me as she smiled while her eyes filled with curiosity to know the rest.
"I need to tell you about the dreams I have for us, and the feelings that have taken root in my heart for you," I continued, while my heart pounding.
"These emotions about you have been with me for a long time, disturbing my peace. I think of them constantly, and they've become a part of my very being....."
I paused for a moment again, gathering my thoughts, as she remained silent, her attention fully on me.
The quiet of the park seemed to wrap around us, creating a bubble of intimacy. She listened intently, her calm demeanor encouraging me to go on.
"Yet, I'm afraid of how you might perceive all this," Smiling, I was struck by how deeply she was invested in my words and carefully listening to how I was flowing with my calm gentle tone.
The moment seemed to stretch on forever, filled with unspoken promises and the weight of my confession.
Her eyes sparkled with anticipation as she awaited my next words.
"I am all ears." Sasa said, as she continued to listen. Her eyeballs never left mine, and I felt a mix of fear and hope swirling within me.
I took a deep breath, my confidence growing with every heartbeat, and then spoke in a gentle, sincere tone.
"Sasa, I don't quite know how you managed to weave yourself so deeply into my heart. I can't bear a day without seeing you or hearing your voice. When you're not around, my world feels incomplete and devoid of joy. But when we're together, I feel an overwhelming sense of happiness, as if I'm in a paradise free from all worries. It's like we're the only two people in the world. I think your love has touched me so profoundly that I can't imagine my life without you."
"Sasa, you've deeply touched my heart. I love you. I love you more than anything else in my life." I confessed, my voice softening.
She fell silent, her eyes locked onto mine in astonishment. She never expected to hear such words from me. Her gaze was unwavering, which made me feel a twinge of fear. I lowered my head, sinking into a sea of thoughts and fears about what her response might be.
With a lack of energy and a cold demeanor, she stood up without saying a word, picked up her purse, and began to walk away slowly. I couldn’t bring myself to get up from where I was sitting, as the fear of losing her filled my heart. She walked out of the park without me being able to lift my head to watch her leave.
She left me in a state of worry, fear, and panic about losing her. I regretted revealing what was in my heart deeply, knowing I might not be able to forgive myself if I put her in a difficult situation. But what could I do? My heart drove me to speak, even though I was certain it might not work out.
