I woke up with a haze in my mind, my chest heavy with a sense of loss. It was hard to tell if it was the lingering effects of the alcohol I had consumed at the bar or the aftermath of the intense encounter with the man lying beside me. Perhaps it was the combination of both, compounded by the pain of my husband Daniel's betrayal. Four years of marriage shattered by his infidelity. I blamed myself for not recognizing the signs, for naively believing in the love and sweetness Daniel had shown me. But what I had witnessed in our bedroom shattered that illusion completely. There was no justification or positive reason to accept what had transpired.
Seeking solace, I had drowned myself in alcohol, hoping it would numb the pain and make me forget. Engaging in a one-night stand with this stranger beside me was not an act of desire or curiosity, but rather a desperate attempt to channel my anger towards my unfaithful husband. In a moment of vulnerability, I had allowed myself to be consumed by the hurt, not because I wanted to taste the forbidden fruit or seek revenge, but because I needed an escape from the anguish.
The man next to me stirred, drawing me out of my thoughts. I looked at his face, captivated by his handsome features—high cheekbones, sharp jawline, beautiful brows, and thin lips. A nagging sense of familiarity crept in, making me wonder if we had crossed paths before.
"You're awake," he said, his voice breaking the silence. I was taken aback, assuming he was fast asleep.
"I thought you were asleep," I replied, my eyes widening in surprise.
He opened his eyes and noticed my reaction. A smile played on his lips, perhaps attempting to alleviate the awkwardness of the moment. To break the silence, I mustered the courage to ask for his name.
"May I know your name?" I inquired, trying to keep things casual.
"Already interested in me after our one-night stand?" he chuckled. "Just kidding. I'm Alexandra King."
His name triggered a recognition within me. Alexandra King, the CEO of King's Hotel—one of the largest hotels in the world. He was also the owner of Kings Software Enterprise, the largest software company in New York. A wealthy and influential man who has even made it to Forbes' Top 100 list. I couldn't believe that I had shared an intimate moment with one of the wealthiest men in New York.
"Why are you so surprised? I assumed you knew who I was, which is why you wanted to sleep with me," he remarked, a hint of cynicism in his voice. "Because of my status and money."
His assumption disgusted me. Did he think I was just after his wealth?
"Excuse me, Mr. King," I retorted, my voice filled with indignation. "I didn't sleep with you because of your money or status. I wasn't even aware of who you were. Don't add insult to my pain. Right now, I'm angry at my husband for cheating on me."
The words slipped out before I could catch them, and I immediately covered my mouth, regretting my outburst.
"So, you slept with me as a way to seek revenge on your cheating husband," he chuckled, seemingly amused by my confession. "That's an interesting motive."
Embarrassed, I hid my face in my hands, trying to shield myself from further humiliation. But he gently took my hand, lowering it to uncover my face, his eyes filled with understanding.
"There's no need to be embarrassed. These things happen," he reassured me, his touch offering a semblance of comfort.
I had heard rumors about Alexandra King being a playboy, someone who was afraid of commitment. Despite the rumors I had heard, one thing was certain: he was skilled in the bedroom. As the silence lingered, the awkwardness between us intensified, especially considering our current state of undress.
Why did he keep smiling at me with that irresistibly handsome face? "I feel like I've been used by you," he remarked, breaking the silence.
Confused, I asked, "What do you mean?"
"A lover's quarrel, right? Your man cheated on you, so you used me as your way of getting back at him. It's okay, though. I enjoyed last night," he explained with a smirk.
My cheeks flushed, and I hastily covered my face with the blanket. His laughter only deepened my embarrassment.
Gathering my composure, I covered myself in the blanket and sat up. But as I attempted to rise, Alexandra firmly held me by the waist, burying his head against my side. "You said you're married, yet here you are in my bed," he said.
Confused, I questioned him, "What do you mean by 'my bed'?"
"This is my hotel, and everything here belongs to me, including the bed we shared. There's no way I could forget about you," he stated, his voice filled with possession.
Alexandra gripped my waist, flattening me against the bed as he hovered above me. Our eyes met, and there was a mixture of playfulness and anger in his gaze. "You're a bad wife," he chuckled.
This time, his teasing angered me. I knew it was meant in jest, but it hit a nerve. How dare he mock me in my fragile mental state? "Are you any different? You slept with a married woman. Doesn't that make you just as bad?" I retorted.
Smirking, his eyes softened. "I didn't know. It's not like you told me. But you want to know what's worse? I might just steal you away from your husband."
Steal me? Was this man insane? I hadn't even decided if I should leave Daniel or not. "I think you're out of your mind. Let go of me. I'm going home," I said, attempting to free myself from his grip.
As I struggled against him, he held both my wrists above my head, capturing my lips in a passionate kiss. Despite my better judgment, I found myself enjoying the taste of his kiss. He left my lips swollen and red, trailing his lips down my neck, his touch rough yet intoxicating. I couldn't resist him; every touch sent waves of pleasure through my body. I was completely enthralled, unable to stop him.
"Look at me," he commanded, his voice husky. I obliged, meeting his gaze with parted lips, on the precipice of ecstasy.
"Come for me, baby. Now," he whispered, his words possessing a certain power over me. As his hips moved in a relentless rhythm, I succumbed to the pleasure, my body convulsing in a mind-blowing climax.
"Good girl," he praised, a satisfied smile gracing his face.
