  I don't know why I am doing this but I am doing this.   Didn't I bring her here to know the bitter truth that will fill her with guilt? But it would be such a pleasure to hurt someone by intoxicating them with alcohol.   I sit on the carpet overlooking the huge enormous forest burned dark and lifeless. I sip the champagne from my glass and look at Eve who sits next to me holding a glass of champagne with her face like she is afraid that I have something added to it.   I curl my lips into a crooked smile and sip the champagne. It runs down my throat leaving a bittersweet taste in my mouth and burning my chest with warmth in the morning.
