Through my Eyes

First

Four years later, Lily is now in daycare. She is happy being in school, playing, singing, and sleeping with friends. Most days at 4pm, after school Lily is picked up by her fathers sister Pré. Aunt Pré is a member of Small Town Lottery for a living so she has more time to pick Lily up from school.

After arriving home, Lily without any food for snack just changes her own clothes and run straight out on the street to play. When she gets hungry she just runs toward her Aunt Gel, who owns a small sari-sari store. She would ask her aunt to put it kn her parents tab just to fill her stomach. It's almost five in the afternoon, Lily just sits on the side of the street waiting for anyone from her family to come home.

It is now six in the evening her sister Heart arrives from school. Lily is very delighted to see her sister coming home but Heart just greeted her through looking in her eyes and smile. Heart is a school achiever so everyday when she gets home, she go straight doing her school works ignoring, almost as if her sister does not exist.

Later at seven, their aunt Pré calls Lily to come inside and have dinner. Lily most of the time have her dinner with her uncles and aunties who lives in their grandparents house with her grandmother and she just bring food to her sister after in their house. Heart does not like leaving her school works halfway through.

After dinner, Lily will be told to clean herself up, brush her teeth to get ready for bed at 9pm. Since Heart does her school works till late night, their father comes later after Iza comes home and Izas shift usually ends at 10 in the evening, Lily is mostly tucked jn by their aunt Pré. Pré just lays beside Lily in their sisters bed until she falls asleep then she'll leave.

That night while Lily was sound a sleep, a loud thud woke her up. When she opened her eyes she saw her sister Heart in the living room corner, crying and hysterically shouting "ENOUGH! STOP! JUST STOP!" while all their aunties are beside her trying to calm her down. Their uncles in their living room window looking shouting "PUNCH HER IN THE FACE! IN THE FACE BRO! IN THE FACE!" . Lily, awaken by all the sound and commotion, was in shock until she utter the courage to cry and be heard by their aunt Pré. She was carried and taken out of that place crying and screaming "MAMA! MAMA! PAPA!PAPA!". Her aunt told her they will take a night stroll. While walking away from their house she asls her aunt about their mother and she just answers "she's ok, you don't have to think about her. She'll be ok!". They stayed in that street corner in the middle of the night, the streets barely have walking people, only 1 to 3 jeepneys passing by that street corner Lily watch them and the sky with stars and the face of her aunt till she stop crying. A few minutes later started walking back to that house, it's quiet, dead silence, closed lights in the compound as if nothing happened. As Lily enters their house she saw her mother and sister sitting in the livingroom sofa crying and hugging each other, and her father in the middle of the livingroom floor, passed out. She went in their room, their bed is messed up, mosquito net is torn, in the kitchen, few plates are scattered on the floor. Her mother told her to stay at her aunt Près bed for the night she agreed.

The next day, Lily woke up around a little late in the morning, she panicked. She said she needs to go to school and she's late, her mother told her its ok, she will make an excuse letter for her. It's one of her best mornings, she went bavk to her aunts bed forgetting what happened the night before.
