A warm summer afternoon, 15 years ago
The Walker family's laughter and chatter filled the air as they gathered in their lush backyard. The smell of sizzling burgers and hot dogs wafted from the grill, where Mr. Walker Williams, a younger and more carefree version of himself, was busy cooking up a storm. His wife, Mrs. Walker, was arranging a colorful spread of salads and sides on a nearby table, her smile radiant as she chatted with her daughters.
Phoebe, a bright-eyed and curious 10-year-old, was chasing after her little sister Ann, who was giggling and trying to escape. The sun shone down on them, casting a warm glow over the entire scene. The sound of children's laughter and playful shouts filled the air, mingling with the sweet scent of blooming flowers.
As the afternoon wore on, the family gathered around the table, eager to dig into the feast before them. Mr. Walker called out that the burgers were ready, and the family cheered in unison. But in an instant, the joy was shattered. A scream pierced the air, followed by the sound of shattering glass. The family's laughter and chatter ceased, replaced by panicked shouts.
Mrs. Walker rushed towards the source of the scream, her face etched with worry. Mr. Walker's eyes widened in horror as he dropped the plate of burgers. Mr Walker Williams eyes fixed on the scene unfolding before him.
