Chapter Twelve

1166 Words
The end of the day soon rolls around and i intend to stay behind and hit the library. There are some books i want to grab. I sneak a glance around the corner and all of the boys are waiting by my locker. I cannot be bothered to deal with their possessive s**t right now so I turn the other way and use the back stairs to get to the library. It is quiet when I enter, just a few students dotted around looking at the shelves. I find the aisle number I need and disappear between the stacks. My finger runs along the spines of the books. I finally find the one I need. I begin to pull it out when an arm drapes over my shoulder. His cologne tickles my nose and gives away his identity without me even having to look. I glance up to see Callum beside me, also looking at the book in my hand. “Is that the last one? Because I need that book too.” He says with a hint of a smile. “Yeah, but I would be willing to share.” I pull the book fully off the shelf and tuck it against my chest. “In exchange for a ride.” He smirks at me but nods, “deal.” - Callum dashes through the streets on his bike and doesn’t hesitate about driving safely. My stomach rolls and I suddenly question whether irritating Regan was worth dying on this bike. We soon pull up at a small dinner and I jump off the bike. Callum leads us inside and to a small booth at the back. I pick up the menu and start looking at it before a waitress comes over. “I’ll get the bacon double xxl burger please,” I order and then look at the drinks. “And a vanilla milkshake too please.” She nods at me before turning to Callum with a smile. “Same for me,” he tells her before winking. The waitress flushes red before walking away. I refrain from rolling my eyes and pull the school library book out. “So,” I say and scoot closer to Callum. “This is the topic we have been working on.” - Food and milkshake down, studying this book also complete. Callum is dragging this out and I really want to head home now. I hear the rumble of multiple bikes and feel a little relief that the boys are here for me. I stand from the booth and slide my money on the table. “It’s been fun,” I tell Callum with a lack of enthusiasm. “But it’s time for me to go.” I walk out of he dinner and stop when I realise it is not the boys. There are a bunch of bikers out here, but not my bikers. I pull my phone out and dial Luke’s number instead. “Ready to come home now?” He asks with a sigh. I glance around and notice all of the bikers staring at me with smirks on their face. “I wondered if you could pick me up please,” I start to ask but turn away and lower my voice before adding. “There’s some other bikers here and they’re creeping me out. They’re all staring at me.” “Shit.” I hear Luke exclaim and then it sounds like he is running. I hear the shed door slam open before he speak again but not to me. “Fangers are there.” Fangers? Is that the name of this bike club or something. “Rads.” Luke’s tone is serious as I hear a series of bike engines start. “Go back inside the diner and stay within public eye. We’ll be there soon.” I keep the phone to my ear as I turn and try to step back into the diner. Callum is blocking my way, leaning against the frame of the door. “I thought we were friends Radleigh,” he says with a shake of his head. “You didn’t need to call your cousin to come pick you up.” I plaster on a fake smile, “Luke has me on a tight curfew.” I shrug like the rules are dumb. His smile widens as he steps closer to me, “well I best make introductions quick if new rogue are on their way here.” He grabs my hand in his and pulls me toward the bikers. “This is Milo, Xane, Teddy, Stuart, Kit and Jedd.” He points to each one in order. “Everyone, this is Radleigh.” Every one of their smiles sends chills through my veins. “She sure is pretty brother but are you sure?” Teddy asks and I see the resemblance between himself and Callum. “Absolutely,” Callum smiles down at me before winking. The rumble of engines begins to grow closer and i count my lucky stars. I see them pull in the car park and almost breath a sigh of relief. I make to step away from Callum but he grasps my arm and pulls me back to him. I hear the bikes cut off just as Callum slams his lips to mine. I try to recoil but he holds the back of my head tight for a few seconds. Then he releases me with a smirk and I stumble back. “What the f**k?!” I yell at him now. He winks at me, “just letting Regan know who you belong too.” I don’t have chance to respond before a body steps in front of me, followed by two more either side of me. Luke places a hand on my arm and look to him before nodding. I’m fine. Regan is terrifyingly still for a good minute before he speaks. “You will never put your hands on her again.” Regan spits the words from his mouth. He is absolutely raging with fury. “She. Is. New. Rogue.” Callum smirks and steps closer to Regan in challenge. “Blood fang lay claim.” He taps his chest, “I lay claim.” Regan doesn’t hesitate before reeling his head back and smashing it into Callum’s nose. He follows it up with a punch. Luke rags me behind his back and they face the bikers now holding knives toward us all. “You cannot claim what is already mine.” Regan reaches out and pulls me to him. He doesn’t hesitate before smashing his lips to mine. I want to object and tell these men to stop kissing me but words abandon me. The sweep of Regan’s tongue has me diving in for more. I grip his chest and pull him closer. Regan pulls back from my mouth but keeps his arms around me. “See. She is mine.” The words are almost a growl.
