In the morning...
Aashi's pov
I said yes to maa but...,This is not something I really want. A part of me deny and urge to fight fot and then again I think that, it's ok..... it will pass.... I will get through.
"Aashi!!!!!" she heard her mother screaming.
"coming.' she replied.
Aashi took a deep breath and got up.
" yeah," she asked walking down the Staircase.
"oh good," her mother saw her. "it's good you are done, they can be here any moment." she starts dusting the sofa.
sighs "Beta, just sit and Relax yourself." sujata says while tapping the sofa. "sometimes it's pretty exhausting to present yourself to the groom. I have everything done and in place you don't have to worry."
"I know maa, and I am worried about nothing. I trust your preparations maybe." says Aashi taunting her mother.
"yes baby, you can always trust me." sujata smiles bright listening to Aashi.
hell! did she not even understood what I meant? I doubt that this decision could be very tragic. but, what can I do.... infront of the smile of her's. she is happy and so, I have to be happy.... atleast I can try to pretend.
*ding dong* the door Bell goes.
"Aashi!" Sujata screams from the kitchen. "can you check the door beta."
"sure" says Aashi.
Aashi goes towards the door and peek through the eye hole. she saw a couple Standing outside. they were in their mid-age. Aashi opens the door.
"yes," she asked.
"Ah- mrs sujata Singh." asked the Lady.
"Just a minute." says Aashi.
Aashi yells out for her mother. "Maa, their is someone waiting for you outside the door."
Sujata removes her apron and follows the way to the door. "oh my god!" says Sujata with a very bright smile. "please come in!" both the guest follows sujata leading them to the drawing room. "have a seat."
"Beta, please get them some water to drink." says Sujata Looking towards Aashi.
Aashi went inside and brought some three glasses of water and she offers it to the couples and then sujata.
"sit" commands Sujata Patting towards her side on the sofa. "this is my daughter," Aashi's mother says with a smile on her face. She grabbed on Aashi's shoulder claiming the proud of the motherhood. "Aashi."
"Hello Aunty," Aashi greets them with a smile.
"by the way where is Raj?" Sujata looks toward the couple. "I can't See him no where." she inquires.
"he just got busy with some Company problem." answered the man putting his glass down the table.
"And... a part from it, I don't seem to see Mr. Singh as well."
"Oh yes, he got some important call." replied Sujata.
"Maa can I have a minute," Aashi stood up. "I have got something to talk to you about."
"sure," says Sujata.
they both enters the kitchen. "Who are they? " asked Aashi."
"what does the who refers to?" Sujata aksed.
"The two people sitting and Chilling on our 3 years old sofa we just brought." asked Aashi.
"oh beta, you are funny sometimes." her mother laughs. "these are the people you had to meet. Raj is their son."
"And I See him no where!" says Aashi.
"You know youngster these days. they have got time for almost nothing." Sujata clearly avoids the importance of Raj presence at a very critical event like Marriage. "He is just busy with his Company. you know, money man.
"And then one day at our wedding, Raj never arrives because." Aashi gives a sarcastic smile, "he has got no time, he is a youngster and also the Company crisis."
"Don't stress yourself much Aashi," Sujata gets a bit irritated. "I have personally checked everything. He is a nice guy and this is a very amazing family you can get yourself into." Sujata made a Point clearing her dedication of getting het daughter married. "and also your father is also not available here. "
"And Let's add that he is not the groom to be married." Aashi argues.
"we have kept our guest waiting for way too long." says Sujata. "I will see you outside once you are done thinking and pointing out the flaws." Sujata leaves.
Wow! my mind is not really working anymore. Aashi thinks. I don't even know the guy I am to be married with and my mother is fine with it. Like is she even serious. How could my father's presence can be Equalised with the presence of a groom to be. What a toxic family, and even my mother believes their stupid arguments. this is ridiculous.
Other side at the drawing room.
" so sorry, " says Sujata. "you know Marriage is a very big thing, kids get a bit uneasy." she adds an explanation to her delay.
both the parents begun to talk and shares the laughter. After some few minutes Aashi comes out and join them.
she was Lost in her zone. would fake a smile at the stupid jokes Cracked by the couple, flexing about their son who never arrived.
