Shattered Dreams

Olivia's Point Of View: “Olivia, Olivia! It's time to walk down the aisle.” Various shouts brought me back to reality as I was drowned in deep thoughts. The clattering of the camera box, and the huge light it reflected brought me back to my senses. Oh! It was my wedding day, my marriage ceremony with the cold Billionaire, Patrick Brown. I stepped into the wedding hall with a heavy heart, I couldn't help but wonder how my life in Patrick's house would be. Silent murmurs swept across the hall as I made my entrance, each one of the guests tongue-lashing me in between their breaths. I knew they surely took me for a gold-digger, a wretch who just wanted to marry for the sake of money. For a poor lady like me, did I have a choice? My father's company had suddenly collapsed, and I had to marry the cold and aloof billionaire just to save my father's face. Not only was Patrick White cold and brutal, but he also had a reputation for murdering his blood brother. “Oh God! He is not even here.” I sighed. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of a groom arrives late at his wedding. A fleet of cars suddenly rushed into the parking lot, billionaires and reputable men alighted from the luxurious cars, with a domineering man in between them, he wore a cold look that sent icy waves down my spine just at a glance at him. I heaved a sigh and flung away my eyes, but something caught my attention. I immediately raised my eyes to take a closer look. I was right, it was indeed him. The man from last night, walking right beside my husband-to-be. My heart skipped a beat, my muscles quivered and beads of sweat started to form around my face, nearly smearing the make-up that the artist had taken forever to apply on me. I could tell how frozen he was when our eyes met, he suddenly halted in his steps, opened his mouth but slowly closed it back. I could hear my heart make a loud thud against my chest, as I wondered who he was and why he was present at my wedding. Patrick walked briskly to my side, held my hand tightly that I nearly screamed out in pain, and dragged me to the altar. “You may now kiss the bride.” The priest behind us mumbled, and I instantly closed my eyes, trying hard to fight my tears from falling. The kiss was weird and abrupt, lacking all the emotions that were supposed to come with it. “I now hereby pronounce you as husband and wife.” The priest announced. “That was it?” The wedding was completed in a split second. It was never the type that I had always dreamed of. I was not even asked if I was willing to marry him, it seems I don't have much of a choice. “Ellis.” Patrick called out, and the man from last night ran towards him, mumbling some words that sounded like “Yes brother.” I staggered backward as I realized what I had gotten myself into. “What? They were brothers?” The last thing that I expected was that the man I had a one-night stand with was the brother of my fiancé, and he acted as if nothing had happened between us. “I want to get something done quickly, I will leave the rest of the occasion in your hands,” Patrick said to Ellis, who simply nodded his head. I wished the ground could open up and swallow me as I was left alone with Ellis. This was the man who had seen my full nakedness and had his way through me. I was suddenly filled with immense heat and I started to sweat profusely. To make matters worse, he never took his eyes off me. “Hi…” he finally said, walking towards me and slowly grabbing my hand. “About yesterday…” he continued, making my heart race. The intense stare he gave me flushed cold blood down my veins that I began to tremble slightly. “Ex…excuse me,” I muttered, slid my hand out of his grip and ran out of the wedding hall. I needed fresh air to clear my stuffy gut. I walked towards the side of the wedding hall when I saw the shock of my life. My eyes widened, and my heart thudded heavily at the sight of my just-pronounced husband, making out with another lady half-baked right at our wedding ceremony. They were so engrossed in their kisses that they didn't notice my presence. Even when they finally did, they acted as if I wasn't there and carried on with their business. “Now that you are married, are you going to leave me for her?” The shameless lady asked him, moving her fingers on his bare chest, while she caressed his n*****s simultaneously. She gave me an awful look as if she had won the world record of being with the best man. “Not at all. You are mine, and can only be mine.” He replied to her, running his fingers through her hair, and sniffing at her scent. I took a deep breath and turned to leave but his cold voice electrified me to the spot. “Don't you dare leave!” His harsh tone commanded. He seemed to whisper something into the lady's ears, after which he walked over to me. He grabbed me by my hand and pulled me into the car. “Ellis.” He called out, and his brother hurriedly ran to his side. “I am leaving, I want to have some private time. Take care of the guests and meet me at home as soon as you can. I have some work for you.” He said to Ellis, who simply nodded his head. I could sense his gaze on me, so I lowered my head. Patrick turned on the car, driving off at top speed that I wondered where we were heading to. I could hear the wind screaming across my ears as he tore across the highway. I took in a deep breath, summoning all my courage; “Why don't you just marry her instead? Did you marry me just to humiliate me? Also, shouldn't I at least know where we are heading to?” I asked him, my mind reeling for his answers. “Don't you dare question me, woman.” He snapped at me. I flung my gaze at the window, my mind became occupied with various thoughts. I wondered what my life in his home would look like, and based on what I could sense here, it seems the coming days would be hell. He pulled up in front of a giant mansion which seemed to be his house, and headed straight inside while I silently followed behind. “Take off your clothes.” He ordered, I was beyond shocked. Did he want to do it now? Right in the living room? “What?” I asked him in shock, my eyelids furrowed, and my mouth dropped. “You heard me right, woman.” He yelled, starting to unbuckle his shirt. I swallowed hard and obeyed him. I wanted to avoid his cold wrath as much as I could. He climbed on me and had his way through me. It was very cold, and void of emotions, as opposed to how heavenly I felt with his younger brother, Ellis. Sudd enly, a huge knock was heard on the door which sent my heart jumping into my mouth.
