“No, Cassie,” Dr. Janna said, “your friend did not leave. There are other reasons why you haven’t been allowed to see her. She up in the hospital wing right now recovering from some… injuries.”
“She isn’t there, not anymore,” said Cassie sadly. “I asked her to stay, but she had to leave.”
“Doctor” linked Zayden, “are you certain she’s still there? Cassie seems pretty sure…”
“Of course, Alpha. She was asleep when I left. But she was also restrained and there was a guard outside her door. Even without all of that, she would be in no shape to be walking around unassisted.”
Zayden looked at his daughter. She was young, but not silly, nor fanciful. “Maybe we should check on her, just in case.” He said aloud.
“Alpha,” said Nathan, “Lewis is the guard for this morning’s shift.”
