Emily’s POV I was settled on the horse riding through the palace with Lan behind me on his own horse, making sure I wouldn’t run, of course. I ignored the ugly stares I got from the servants. Somewhere in my mind, I needed to go back and show some of those girls who the real deal was. “Oh shut up Emily!” I said, bluffing to myself. “Yes my lady!” Lan ran towards me thinking I was speaking to him. “Not you Lan.” I said, shaking my head. I marveled at the Palace walls. They stood very high and the bodies looked like stones rendered into cement. I looked up and noticed the gates were almost as high as the wall itself.
