Luka’s POV I had barely closed my eyes before the darkness started to hunt me again. Every single time I close my eyes, it’s the same dream and memory. Panting like I had just run a marathon, I woke up breathing so hard. I dragged my painful back from the bed and put my legs to walk. I went to the window because I needed to breathe in some air. Opening the window, the star lights from the sky looked artificial, as though they were staring back at me. Oftentimes the stars were the only light I saw on days I woke up feeling enveloped in my own darkness. I stood for barely five minutes enjoying the view before I remembered her. I still couldn’t believe how easily she fell from the stairs. I know how Alfred would be feeling now. I should probably be bundled up and sent to the cage myself.
