*Raze* I scramble up the wall, my heart still racing from the chaos below. Torren stands next to me, his brow furrowed with concern as he scans the treeline. The mutants had poured into our territory like a broken dam, and their panic is contagious even now when they are almost gone. I can feel the energy in the air crackling, a storm brewing just beyond our sight. “What the hell could scare them like that?” I ask, my voice hoarse from shouting orders. “They’ve never fled like this before.” Torren shakes his head, his eyes narrowing as he studies the horizon. “Could be drones… soldiers from the city?” He trails off, a frown deepening on his face. “But even they shouldn’t send them running in a panic like this.” I nod, but the thought of drones or soldiers sends a chill through me.
