Chapter 5

Aditya’s Pov:

“This was taken the day before yesterday.”

She handed me a file. I opened it and everything stopped…

I sat on the floor with the thud.        

It was picture of Piya. She is laughing at something and she has a small baby in her arms. I think the picture was taken from the CCTV.

“NO NO NO this can’t be true. She died before my eyes. I saw her burning” I shouted.

Tears started flowing from my eyes. She flinched when I shout.

“It is true.”

“How can you be so sure about that? This must be taken before she died.”

“I’m sure because I’ve seen her with my own eyes. Just…just read the file.”

I started reading the file. It has her current address, her picture, and her family details. I looked through her family details and frown looking at her status married. What shocked me more that she has a son who is 1 year old.

I looked at Prachi. She was already looking at me.

“When I first started my job in your company I didn’t knew anything but after I got close with uncle and aunty I got to know about the whole story.”

She sigh and sit on the bed which is beside me.

“When you first introduced Piya to your parents they were so happy.”

Yeah I clearly remember that. Aai was so happy that she made sweets after Piya went her home.

I nodded and she continued.

“After someday when they went for dinner, there they saw her with a man who was hugging and kissing her. Firstly they thought that they have mistaken her with someone. But after that when they were about to return home they heard them talking about taking money from you, that you want to marry her. When that man heard that you want to marry her he got angry that he banged on the table loudly. Your parents heard their whole plan to take money from you and left you. After that day they even tried to warn you about that but you never listened to them you thought that…that they want to separate you two. I must believe that it wasn’t you to think that they want to separate you???”

She told me. I was so numb hearing all of this so I just nodded.

“I don’t know why but I found it suspicious that after your parents told you to not to marry her suddenly out of no-where you and her met with an accident. So I just went to police and asked them to reopen it and investigate it again and found out that it was all planned. The whole accident thing was planned. When Piya got to know that your parents have found out he and her husband planned that accident so that she can get out of your life with your money.”

“Do you remember Rohit Deshmukh???” she asked.

I thought for a while and said “My friend who was with me only for my money?”

“Exactly. He is Piya’s husband.” She said and I was shocked again.

“He wanted to ruin you by taking all your money. And as far as I got information you’ve transferred huge amount just before that accident day.” She said and I nodded.

“But I’ve seen the car burning with my own eyes” I said feeling confused.

“Yes you’ve seen car burning not her.” She said and then realization hit me.

“She got out of the car before it explore. According to police investigation back then it showed that there was a someone but according to police investigation few days ago they found video of your accident and it clearly shows that she got out of the car just before the explosion, hence she had some injuries but she was not dead.” She completed and looked at me expecting me to say something.

I was too hurt to say something. All these two years I’ve blamed my parents about nothing. They never did anything they were innocent.

“She used me. SHE USED ME. I blamed them for nothing all these years. I hurt them.” I said.

“I hurt them”

Prachi’s Pov:

“I hurt them” he said again and again.

He put his head on my lap and stated crying and mumbling about hurting his parents, while holding my waist tightly like his life depend on it.

After crying for some time, his grip on my waist loosen and his crying stopped.

I looked down to see his face. He fell asleep while crying and why not after all he had this long fylt from Canada and this huge truth of his life which is hurting him.

I slowly put his head on bed and took pillow and put it under his head and cover him with blanket. I took my clothes from my closet and went to freshen up.

After that I looked at the time it’s 11 am. I went to kitchen and make lunch. By the time I completed it was 12 pm.

So I went to bedroom to wake him up but to my surprise he was already up. He was still sitting on the floor and was looking out of the window, lost in his thoughts.

I cleared my throat to gain his attention, which I gain successfully. He turn to look at me.

“Come on, lunch is ready. You must be hungry.” I said putting pillow on the bed on its place.

“I’m not hungry” he said looking away.

“Oh please I know you haven’t eaten anything from yesterday. Now come on get up” I said and took his hand to pull him up. Which he did.He got up and I just dragged him to living room.

“Go freshen up. I’ll put our dish.”I said

He went to freshen up while I put everything on dining table. He came back after 10 mins and he really looked fresh.

We ate lunch silently and washed dishes. To my surprise he helped me to wash dishes. Obviously I denied first but he insist so I let him help me.

After completing everything we sat on couch silently.

“When did you find all of this?” he asked suddenly.

“I found those pictures and information day before yesterday. I want to be sure so I went to the given address and found out its true. Rohit have give money to previous officer and that officer died just before a month when I reopened the case.”I said.

“Why didn’t you tell me all of these before? About opening the case and all??”

“I wanted to be sure before telling you all these. I wanted to tell you all of this on that day when I found out but I thought to tell you yesterday.”

“And you didn’t tell me yesterday also.” He said raising his eyebrow.

“Do you remember what today is???” I asked him.

He thought for a while and shakes his head in no.

“Today is your parent's anniversary.” I said.

Aditya’s Pov:

I looked at her shocked that I forgot their anniversary and hurt that I forgot only because of Piya who just used me like a toy for money, fooled me and played with my feeling just for money.

My eyes started getting moist again.

“How can I forget this? How can I?? It used to be one of the best day of our lives Prachi how can I hurt them for that girl who was with me just for money..?How can I???”I started blaming myself for hurting them. I started pulling my hairs being frustrated on myself.

“Hey look at me” she said. I didn’t.

“Look at me.”

She stopped me from pulling my hairs more and made me look at her.

“You hurt them Aditya but think about it you are the one who can heal them who can bring this big bang smile on their face. You are their only child. They loves you so much.” She said trying to convince me.

“No they won’t.”

“They will. Just go meet them and tell them that you’re sorry that you missed them. Tell them what you felt.” She said looking into my eyes.

“NO NO NO I can’t face them. I have blamed them for nothing all these years and suddenly today I can’t I can’t.” I said kind of panicking.

I tried to get up but she pulled me back and cupped my face and said

“They won’t judge you. They are your family. Your only family who won’t judge you and can’t give you cold shoulder.”

This kind of relaxed me but still I was hesitant.

she sigh and said

“I’ll be there with you when you talk if you want??” it sounded like a question.

“Promise??” I asked her like a small child.

She nodded with this big smile. I also give her small smile.

Then she started talking about her job, changing the topic. She talked about her friends then her favorite food, place, books etc. in between she also asked me about my all favorites.

While talking with her I wondered, Is this the same girl who always used to irritate me? Because few minutes ago she calmed me down which no one can do other than my Aai.

I listened her blabbering and smiled.
