Chapter 8

1040 Words
Myra POV I followed him into a dimly lit hallway that led into another hallway lined with rooms. Contrary to what he said, i tried to memorize the dungeons. Searching for a possible way out. He led me into one of the rooms. There were four people already in there, sitting down waiting for us. Two women and two men. The women looked very similar, maybe they were sisters. Both were tall and had the same nose and eyes. They were also both beautiful. The only difference i could see was that one had blonde hair and one had auburn hair. The men were opposites. One was short and happy looking, with bright red hair and blue eyes and the other was a stern looking man, tall and brunette, with dark eyes and curly hair. He was also possibly the most beautiful man i had ever seen. As i walked in the room i tried to not stare open mouthed at the handsome man but failed completely. My gawking seemed to irritate him because he was openly glaring at me and hate and suspicion were the dominate emotions on his face. “Go ahead and sit down.” Mason said to me, indicating a chair facing the rest of the occupants. I realized just then that i was shaking badly. I clumsily made to sit down and tripped. Blonde girl rolled her eyes at me, but Mason smiled kindly when i finally was upright and facing them. “My name, as you know now, is Mason. I’m beta here at Silver Moon pack. Can you tell us your name and what pack you belong to?” He spoke to me a bit like a child, but i was past caring. I coughed trying to clear my throat enough to be able to speak to them. The red haired man seemed to understand and brought me a water, which i gulped down gratefully. I tried again, “My name is Myra.” I hesitated, not wanting to mention bloodstone. Surely they would contact them and have them come get me. “What pack are y-” Mason began to repeat, but the blonde cut in. “Is it true you are from bloodstone then? You tried to murder multiple high ranking pack members?” She looked furious, and i couldn't blame her. What I had done was seen as unforgivable. But how did she know? Did word really travel that fast? “Tessa, stop.” Mason began “we don't know-” Tessa, the blonde girl, laughed without humor. “It's obvious on her face that I'm right. I can't believe she killed anyone, weak as she looks, but she at least attempted it! Why are we even bothering with this interrogation? Lets just follow normal protocol for this situation. I don't like being down in this gross place anymore. Alpha...” she put her hand on the curly haired man's arm and my stomach clenched uncomfortably. Irrational anger shot through me. “It was self-defense” I said through clenched teeth They all looked at me shocked “What do you mean?” Mason pressed I looked at my hands. “I was supposed to complete the chosen mate bond with alpha Warren that night.” I shuddered at his name, “but when he brought me to his room, he had other men there waiting for us.” Comprehension began to flicker across a couple of their faces accompanied by disgust. I took a deep breath and continued. “He thought i was being unfaithful to him, so he wanted the other men to-to r**e me. He wanted to teach me a lesson. I was supposed to be punished.” At that point i stopped. I didn't want to tell them about the out of control feeling i had. I didn't know or trust this pack, but i knew i didn't want them to send me back to blood stone. They all seemed frozen. Tessa the b***h was the first to recover. “That is ridiculous. Alpha! It's obvious she's lying. Everyone knows alpha Warren is a great man. He’d never do that! How did she manage to injure anyone? Shes full of lies and deceit. We need to stop this nonsense and make an example out of her.” Alpha Liam stared at me. He looked so mad but I could tell he didn't believe me. I could also tell he was having a conversation through his mind link with someone, probably his beta Mason, excluding me. Finally, he stood up. “Dr. Heck, take her to the infirmary and look her over. Mason will escort the three of you over there. I'll decide what to do with her after.” he said coldly. “But alpha!” Tessa started to complain again. “Enough Tessa!” he cut across her as he walked out. She followed out behind him like a little puppy, but not before shooting me a glare. The red-haired man walked up to me and held out his hand for me to shake. “I'm Dr. Heck.” he jabbed a thumb at auburn haired woman behind him. “And this is Kristi, she's my intern” i shook his hand. “I am sorry to hear about what happened to you,” he continued solemnly. “Honestly, that Alpha Warren has always rubbed me the wrong way.” I was shocked, and from the look of it, so was Mason. “You believe me??” I gasped Dr Heck appraised me. “Yes, I do. I've been in my field a long time, Myra, and seen a lot of things. I know a fighter when I see one, and i can usually tell when someone is lying to me.” He saw relief and gratitude flood my expression. “Now don't get too excited. You still have the alpha to convince. Although, I will say it's a good sign he's letting me examine you rather than throwing you right back in the dungeons. However, he might still do that when I'm done”, he sighed. “Let's get surface level.” Mason suggested, and he led the way out of the dungeons.
