Myra POV
The shower felt amazing. I watched as the water turned brown from the dirt and grime that came off my body. Those dungeons must have been filthy. I washed my whole body, the strawberry scent of Andreas shampoo drifting into my nostrils. I closed my eyes and breathed it in, trying to get my body to relax.
“Myra. Ive been looking for you.” I looked up from my champagne flute. The taste of strawberry champagne still on my tongue, the smile fading from my face.
“What are you doing here?” I tried to sound like i wasnt scared, but my voice shook.
“I’m here for you. I’m here to take you home. Everything will be okay, but you need to come with me. You are still luna and your people need you. I need you.” he said
“I will never go anywhere with you again.” I spat
He looked hurt, good. “You don’t belong here. An alpha needs his luna”
“You’re no alpha!” I said defiantly
Anger flashed through his eyes and before i could move he had me pinned against the wall by my throat. “Maybe I'm not the only one who needs you. Gerald needs you too.”
Dread flooded through me. “W-what have you done with pop?” I coughed out, barely able to breathe around his fist.
“Remember what I told you about stuttering, love. Come with me and your pop will be fine.” he smiled, knowing he had won.
“MYRA! Wake up!” I could hear Andrea now. I could also hear the water splashing down. I was still in the shower. I opened up my eyes and realized i was laying on the floor. Andreas concerned face was right above mine.
“Oh thank the goddess!” she said. She got up and turned off the shower and wrapped towels around us both. She had gotten soaked while trying to help me.
“What happened?” I asked her
“You passed out. I heard a loud thump and went to investigate, and you were out cold on the floor. Are you okay?”
“Yeah, i think so.” i said, but she didn't look convinced.
“I think I'm going to talk to Hazel. I think you need to rest tonight.”
I thought back to my dream. I could rememeber almost all of it and concern washed through me. I needed to get out of here and find pop and we needed to make a run for it before Warren found us.
But wait, I was sure I’d killed Warren. I can’t take a dream so seriously. It was just a dream after all. Wasn’t it?
“I’m sure Hazel will take that well.” I rolled my eyes, and she laughed. “I think I’m just hungry. The past couple of days have taken a lot out of me.”
“Fine. Let's get dressed and we can get you some food before dinner rush!”
When we arrived back to the kitchen I was surprised to see Alpha Liam and Mason there.
“What took you so long? I told you to meet me here with her 10 minutes ago” alpha Liam demanded of Andrea when we walked in.
“We had to get dressed. It took a while because i had to find her some clothes that fit her. She was too small for most of my clothes.”
She looked at me apologetically and i realized she had mind linked him that I had passed out.
Alpha Liam turned his gaze towards me, upraising me in a way that sent a shiver down my spine.
“What's wrong with you?” he spat
“I-I dont know. I think I’m just hungry, alpha.” I kept my eyes down as i spoke, unable to look at him. His perfectly handsome face made it hard for me to concentrate.
I saw his feet moving around the kitchen. I still couldn't look up, so i just watched his feet. Then he walked up to me and stood there for a minute.
“Look at me.”
I looked up to see him looking at me, his dark eyes locked onto mine. I stood staring, mesmerized like an i***t until he looked down at his hand. I realized belatedly he was trying to hand me a sandwich. I blushed.
“Eat.” he told me “I can't have you passing out all over the place. You’re worthless to me if you're sleeping on the job.”
I scowled at him. “I didnt do it on purpose.” but I took the sandwich anyway. I looked down again. “Thank you, alpha.”
He stood there for a second more and i could feel his gaze boring into me, but i refused to look up.
“Alpha, we need to get going if you want to be on time for the meeting with snow hill pack.” For some reason, Mason sounded angry. I glanced up at him and he was glaring at me. He wasn't exactly friendly with me, but he’d never looked at me like this before.
“Right. Let's go.” Alpha Liam said, and he abruptly turned and walked away without glancing back.
