A New Partner
“LISTEN, I NEED you to do a special favor for me, and you understand what happens when you do a favor for Sergeant Anderson, right?”
“No, sir. I do not,” answered the Irish cleaning lady.
“Well, let’s say they’ll be a little extra pay for you. All you need to do is stay in this general area for about an hour or so after I leave tomorrow afternoon and tell me who sits at my desk or opens my desk drawers for any reason. Not so much to ask, right?”
“No, Sergeant, not so much. I’ll tell you what happens after you leave.”
