HORNIMAN NATURE TRAIL POV MARCELINE "What?" I asked in disbelief as Grey continued to hold me down. "What do you mean you felt free?" "I just…I don't know what I mean," Grey sighed, letting me go. "Let's just forget I said anything." I was about to confront him when his phone started ringing. His mouth pressed into a thin line as he read the caller ID. "I'm sorry, I have to take this." Grey stood up and started walking away from the tree, out of ear shot. Picking up the discarded cheese and berries from our tumble, I started packing up the picnic. I wasn't sure how to process what Grey had said, it went against our contract. My cheeks felt like they were on fire, but I didn't want to read too much into it.
