LEILA'S POV I straightened my clothes once more in front of the mirror, hunted in the room for my bag. I slung it over my shoulder preparatory to leaving. Just as I made for the door, I suddenly turned and darted to the window and leaned out. I looked closely at the tree and all around as far as my eyes could see. There was nothing.
