GREY'S POV
For the first time in what seemed like forever, I felt real, gut wrenching fear. All that I had known as sane and real had been totally wiped away in one second. What I saw in front of me was not supposed to be real. It was supposed to be only the stuff of fairy tales and legends. The shard of glass that I wasn't aware I was still holding fell to the floor from my suddenly nerveless fingers. My heart pounded so hard in my chest that I wondered how it was still going on despite the tremendous strain it was under.
