Chapter Twenty-Eight Quinn entered the kitchen, feeling uncomfortable with the sudden silence at her entrance. It felt like every eye in the room was on her. Leaving the dirty dishes by the sink, she hurried outside and headed to her room. She was tempted to take one of the lanterns from the stables with her so she didn’t have to waste the batteries in her torch. She’d ask about a lantern for her room later. Gideon sat at one end of the chest, leaning against the wall. One leg was bent across the chest and the other remained on the floor.
