The world seemed to slow down into a terrifying moment, as the shadowy claw pierced Ryan's back.
I saw it happen in horrifying slow motion, the dark tendril slowing coming out with unnatural speed, slamming into Ryan's massive wolf form from behind. The sound it made when it tore through his flesh was sickening. Ryan let out a loud ripping noise that would haunt my nightmares forever. Ryan's huge black wolf staggered forward, a guttural roar of pain tearing from his throat as his blood splashed across the grass.
"R...Ryan!" I screamed, my voice cracking due to the fear of what I had just witnessed.
