CRYSTAL POV
For a moment, he just stood there… still, like he was gathering his thoughts.
Then slowly… he turned.
And the look in his eyes made my chest tighten.
"Close the door," he said.
My fingers hesitated on the handle for a second… then I did as he said.
The soft click echoed louder than it should have, then an heavy silence followed.
Ryan took a step toward me. Then another.
"You came quicker than expected," he said.
"You sent for me, you are the Alpha I have to obey your request," I replied, trying to steady my voice.
His gaze lingered on me for a second too long… like he was checking me out. Making sure of something. Then his expression hardened slightly.
"Did the guard say anything else to you?"
I frowned. "No. Just that you wanted to see me.
