Serena shook her head, disappointment evident in her eyes. "Well, congratulations. You just did."
She walked past me toward the bedroom, her shoulder brushing mine roughly.
Aliyah followed, pausing only long enough to look me up and down with clear hurt. "You know what hurts the most? We thought you trusted us. Turns out you never did."
Then she disappeared into the bedroom too, closing the door behind her with a soft but final click.
