Rage Unleashed

Keira Nash POV The day refused to slow down, classes ended late, but Keira stayed behind, trying to copy notes she barely understood. Her mind was not in school. It was on the kiss, the cheers, the way Jax had held her hand in front of everyone like it was natural. Like it meant something. She kept telling herself it was fake. Three months. A deal. Nothing more. Still, her heart did not listen. When she stepped out of the classroom, the hallway was almost empty. Lockers lined the walls. Sunlight spilled through the tall windows, casting long shadows across the floor. That was when she felt it. A presence. “Keira.” Her body stiffened. Henry stepped out from behind a pillar, blocking her path. His face was tight, with his eyes looking red, and his jaw clenched. He looked nothing like the boy she once loved. There was something sharp and broken in him now. “What do you want?” Keira asked, keeping her voice steady. Henry laughed without humor. “So it’s true.” She frowned. “What is true?” “You and Jax,” he snapped. “Tell me the truth. Are you really dating him?” Keira crossed her arms. “Yes.” The word came out clean and simple. Henry stared at her like she had stabbed him. “Yes?” he repeated. “Just like that?” “What is it to you?” she shot back. “You cheated on me. You made your choice.” His face twisted with jealousy and frustration. “You did this to hurt me.” “I did this to move on,” Keira said. “You don’t get to question me anymore.” Henry stepped closer. Too close. “You think you can just replace me?” he hissed. “With him?” Keira tried to step back, but her bag caught on a locker. Before she could react, Henry grabbed her wrist. He did it so hard and roughly. His nails dug into her skin. Keira gasped as pain shot up her arm. “Henry, let go.” He didn’t. His grip tightened. His nails tore into her flesh. Warm pain spread fast. “Answer me,” he growled. “Is he better than me?” Keira cried out, trying to pull away. “You’re hurting me.” Students began to gather, while loud whispers started rising . Instantly everyone came out with their Phones. Henry didn’t care. Rage burned in his eyes. “You belong to me,” he said, with his voice breaking and shaking the same time. Keira screamed. The pain was unbearable now. Her skin tore under his nails. Blood seeped through. Some students shouted at him to stop. Raven stood among the crowd. She watched with a smile. After fainting the day before, she looked pleased now. Like this was the justice she wanted. But Rosa was there too. Rosa, the girl Henry was now dating. Her face was pale with anger and confusion. “Henry,” she shouted. “Stop it. What are you doing?” He ignored her. Theresa pushed through the crowd, phone raised, already live. “Guys, this is insane,” she said breathlessly. “Henry just attacked Keira.” The comments exploded, with a million, and 3 million views and likes. Keira felt dizzy suddenly, while her tears blurred her vision. Then a voice cut through the noise. “Get away from her.” Jax. He was running down the hall, with full speed, while breathing so hard, with his eyes blazing with fire . He had seen the video, he had seen Keira pain. Henry turned just in time to see Jax’s fist connect with his face. The punch was so brutal. Henry flew back, crashing into lockers. Gasps erupted so loud. Jax moved instantly, placing himself in front of Keira. His body shook with rage. “You touch her again,” Jax said, with his voice dark, “and you will not walk away.” Henry groaned on the floor. Something changed in the air. Jax’s breathing grew heavy and his eyes glowed so bright. Then it happened. Bones shifted, while his powers surged. In front of everyone, Jax shifted into his wolf. A massive black wolf stood where he had been. With his eyes burning silver while power rolling off him in waves. The hallway erupted into screams. Shifting on campus was forbidden. Rare and completely dangerous It's against the campus rule. No one had ever seen Jax do it. Keira stared in shock, fear, and something deeper she could not name. The bond. She felt it. A pull. A heat in her chest. Students backed away in terror. From the far end of the hall, new presences appeared. They walked calmly, like kings. Rival academy leaders. Fireball Academy. Among them was Natalie. Her eyes glowed faintly as she looked at Keira. No one spoke aloud. But Keira heard it. Voices in her mind. She staggered. “She is the key.” “Her power is awakening.” “She can open the dark realm.” Keira clutched her head. Natalie watched her closely, suspicion sharp in her gaze. “She healed,” Natalie thought. “Too fast.” Keira looked down. Her wrist. The torn skin was gone. Healed. Not even a scar remained. Her breath caught. Fear and realization crashed over her. More voices whispered. “If they take her power, destruction will come.” “If she awakens fully, balance will return.” Light and dark. Demons, witches and goths. The truth settled heavily in her chest. She was not normal. She never had been. Jax shifted back slowly, breathing hard. He looked at Keira like she was the center of his world. “Are you hurt?” he asked urgently. She shook her head, shaken but standing. “I was. Not anymore.” Sirens wailed in the distance. The rival academies turned and left quietly, their secrets hidden. The crowd broke apart. Theresa’s live stream hit numbers no one had ever seen. Keira stood frozen. Her life was no longer just drama. It was destiny. And it had only just started.
