In tears, she walked into her room. She couldn’t help but think about how she’d cope with such treatment for the rest of her life. She sniffled, as she wiped her tears before shutting the door behind her. Ariel knew she had to get used to this sort of treatment, as there was no one to even help her. She knew there would be no one to stand up for her, but deep down, she wanted someone to. She wanted someone that would always take a stand for her, someone who would punish anyone who dared to say shameless things about her, but sadly, she had no one. Remembering all these, tears streamed down her cheeks. She remembered all the shameless words those alphas had spoken about her and worst of it all, they didn’t say it behind her, they’d said it right in front of her. Didn’t they think she’d have feelings? Did they not think she was a creature who had the right to feel bad whenever such things were sad about her? She slid to the ground in tears. All she wanted was to live a decent life, one, free of pain, one, where she would not have to suffer for the mistakes her parents made, but sadly, this was her destiny. Her suffering was part of her destiny, and she wept at the thought of this. She folded her knees close to her chest in tears, as she snuggled herself. She patted herself and imagined someone doing it for her, “it’s going to be fine Ariel, everything will be fine,” she told herself in tears before standing and walking to her bed. Likewise, she ran her fingers through the bed with no reason for her actions and as she ran her fingers through the bed and the material on it, something came to her mind… the nasty comments of those alphas and immediately it came to her mind, she took her hands off the bed. As she took her hands off the bed and stared at it, she could imagine them sitting on the bed shirtless and calling out to her. “Hey baby girl, it looks like you will taste sweet, come to me.” one of the alphas, who she’d imagined said to her, as he used his index fingers to give her signals. She moved back in shock and fear, as she stared at them and another said the same thing. “Ignore him, it will be me first. You look fresh and tasty, so why don’t you give me a try? Trust me, I’m excellent at what I do,” he said and winked at her, and tears of both frustration and pain gripped her, and they streamed down her cheeks. She got up and made to run out of the room, when they all held on to her and started dragging her. “Come to me, baby girl, come to me!” They said as they all dragged her, and she didn’t know when she screamed. “Enough! Let me go!” She yelled, eyes closed. On opening her eyes, she looked around the room, there was no one in the room with her. She put her hand on her chest, as she let out some sounds of tears. She fell back to the ground in tears, she didn’t want to ever sleep on the bed again. If a bed were where those nasty mafias would take her or take whores when they wanted to make out, then she definitely never wanted to sleep on a bed again. She dried her tears and decided to console herself. “It's alright, Ariel. Why should you think of those disgusting men? You’re a strong girl, are you not? Aren’t you a strong girl, Ariel?” She asked herself in tears, as she patted her face. “It doesn’t matter what anyone says or does to you. You’re one of the strongest people alive and you…” as she mentioned, she was one of the strongest people alive to herself, a painful smile crept up her face. “Do you want to know how you’re one of the strongest people alive?” She asked herself, and she gave a light chuckle, which audibly showed she was in so much emotional pain. “You want to know, right?” She asked herself again before sitting properly on the floor. She inhaled deeply and wiped her tears, “you’re one of the strongest people because you grew without parents,” she told herself, “not only that, you’re one of the strongest people because despite everything you’ve heard people say about you, your parents – what they have done to you, you’ve never let it get to you in a way that would make you take your life. Dry your tears, it’s all going to be fine,” she told herself with a smile, before wiping her tears and then resting her head on the floor. As she rested her head on the floor and slowly closed her eyes, she couldn’t help, but dream of how wonderful life could be. Thinking about that, she decided to sleep. Still in her sleep, she adjusted her position on the floor. So, what if she wasn’t on the bed? It didn’t mean she couldn’t make herself comfortable. She smiled to herself as she slept, she was definitely having good dreams and those were the kinds of dreams she wanted to have for the rest of her life. She slowly opened her eyes and saw that she was still on the floor. She held onto her head. She’d developed a headache, having cried too much, and she inhaled deeply when the thought of her reason for crying came to mind again. She chuckled, as she spoke to herself, that had to be a stupid reason for crying but then, maybe she’d held it in for too long and this happened to fill her cup of crying tolerance. As she sat up, a certain realisation hit her… Did they really let her be for so long without causing her any trouble? She used her hands to feel her clothes, they didn’t pour her any water, she used her hand to feel the length of her hair, it wasn’t cut. She immediately got up and rushed to the mirror, they didn’t change the colour of her hair. She examined every single part of her body, looking for what they did and did not do to her, but she was shocked and surprised to see that they’d done nothing to her. She was shocked more than she was surprised. “Did I get transported to another universe while I was asleep?” She asked herself, “how’s it so possible that they let me sleep?” She asked herself before rolling her eyes. “Perhaps, they’ve finally come to the realisation that I also deserve sleep,” she said to herself before sighing out loud. That was the best sleep she’d ever had. She was still feeling tired, so it affected her movements in one way or the other. For that reason, she decided to take some minutes of rest before leaving her room. She poured a glass of water and after gulping it in a go, she wobbled on her feet and made her way to the door. She held onto the knob, for some reason, she was feeling hesitant to open the door. She inhaled deeply. What more could there be that would make her feel so scared? It was just a door, after all. She inhaled deeply, but just as she was about to go out again, her instincts stopped her. She sighed and rested her back on the door, cursing herself, as to why she was still feeling scared of going out. She was sure it wasn’t because she feared the alphas…they must have even left, so why was she scared? She finally gathered enough courage and twisted the knob of the door before opening it and walking out of the room. On walking out of the room to another place, she finally realised why she was feeling so scared of going out… Damien. She saw him standing, even though he had his back faced to her, she still felt scared. She gulped in fear and just as she wanted to leave without him noticing, she tripped and knocked something over. He turned and saw her on the floor, she shook her head, she was definitely done for. Even though she was still weak, she managed to get up and take to her heels, but then he came after her. “Darn it, I should have stayed back in my room,” she said to herself, as she ran towards her room, but before she could take a few more steps, he caught up with her and stopped her by holding on to her wrists. “Damn!” She cursed inwardly.
