(Lex POV)
I fell asleep being held in Colton’s arms, but the moment I wake up, the first thing I feel is the pressure under my skin—my powers humming, restless, like they’re trying to push their way out. It’s been happening ever since the vision of Cole’s plans. Ever since the Moon Goddess whispered that something larger is coming.
And it scares the hell out of me.
Not the enemies. Not the rogues.
Me.
Colton is still asleep beside me, his arm heavy across my waist, his breathing deep and steady. Normally, that calms me. Tonight? Nothing could.
I slip out of bed carefully and throw on a shirt, heading outside before the sun is fully up. The morning air is cold and sharp, but the second my bare feet hit the grass, something shifts—like the earth greets me.
