29 lost connection

Chapter 29 Ramen POV Something was wrong. I could feel it. I had been sitting in my room when a sharp pain suddenly ripped through my chest. I grabbed my shirt, trying to catch my breath. “What the hell?” I closed my eyes and reached for the bond. Then I felt it. A new connection. A powerful one. My eyes widened. “No.” I knew exactly what had happened. Bella. She had been marked. But that wasn't all. She had completed the Luna ceremony with Brady. I could feel the bond between them, and for the first time, I felt something I hadn't expected. Fear. Not for myself. For my plans. Everything I had been doing to get Bella back had just become harder. I stood up and began pacing across the room. “She can't do this.” I had spent so much time convincing myself that Bella would eventually come back to me. I had manipulated her memories, used people to get into her head, and made her question everything she knew. I had even sent the Lycan after her. And now? She had chosen Brady. No. I refused to believe it. Bella was mine. She had been mine first. I touched the spot where my own mark had once connected me to her. The bond between us had never felt right, but I had convinced myself that it didn't matter. I had marked her. That should have been enough. At least, that's what I had always believed. But now I was beginning to understand something. Bella had never truly been mine. I slammed my fist against the wall. “Damn it!” A knock came at the door. I didn't answer. The door opened anyway. The Lycan stepped inside. He looked at me carefully. “You felt it too.” I turned toward him. “You knew this was going to happen?” He shook his head. “No. But I knew something was changing.” “What did you do to her?” “Nothing.” I narrowed my eyes. “Don't lie to me.” “I didn't touch her mind this time.” I walked closer to him. “You were supposed to make her afraid. You were supposed to make her question Brady.” “I did.” “Then why did she mark him?” The Lycan didn't answer. That made me even angrier. I grabbed him by the shirt and shoved him against the wall. “You were supposed to make her run!”, “She didn't.” I froze. “What?” “She didn't run.” His words echoed through my mind. She didn't run. Instead, she had gone straight to Brady. She had chosen him. She had willingly marked him. And that realization hurt more than I wanted to admit. I released the Lycan and stepped back. “Get out.” He hesitated. “Ramen…” “Get out!” He quickly left the room. I stood there alone. My breathing was heavy as I stared at the floor. Then I felt something else. Bella. Her happiness. Her relief. Her love. I could feel it through the faint connection that remained.,And I hated every second of it. She was happy without me. That wasn't supposed to happen. I was supposed to be the one she couldn't live without. She was supposed to come running back. Instead, she had found someone else. Someone who actually loved her. Someone who had marked her willingly. Someone she had chosen. I clenched my fists. “No.” I wasn't going to let this happen. I walked over to the table and picked up the small piece of paper I had been keeping. There was a name written on it. Someone I hadn't wanted to involve yet. Someone powerful enough to change everything. I stared at the name for a long moment..Maybe I had been trying too hard to get Bella back myself. Maybe it was time to bring someone else into this. Someone who knew about the gates. Someone who knew about the powers Bella was beginning to discover. Someone who could make Brady disappear. I smiled slowly. “Let's see how happy you are when your mate is gone.” I picked up my phone and made the call. It only rang once. Then a woman's voice answered. “You finally called.” “I need your help.” “I know.” My smile disappeared. “How?” “Because I felt the ceremony too.” I froze. “You felt it?” “Yes.” There was a pause. “And now that Bella has completed the Luna ceremony, her powers are going to become stronger.” My eyes narrowed. “What powers?” The woman laughed softly. “You really don't know what Bella is?” I gripped the phone tighter. “Tell me.” “You're going to have to come see me.” “Where?” “I'll send you the location.” The call ended. I stared at the phone. For the first time, I wasn't thinking about getting Bella back. I was thinking about what she really was. Because if this woman was telling the truth, Bella wasn't just a wolf. She wasn't just a Luna. And she definitely wasn't just Brady's mate. She was something much more. And whatever she was becoming… I wanted it. Even if I had to destroy everyone around her to get it.
