Chapter 30 Bella POV I woke up feeling different. I couldn't explain it at first. I opened my eyes slowly and looked around the room. The sun was shining through the curtains, casting light across the bed. For a few seconds, I just lay there. Then I felt it. Brady. I could feel him even though he wasn't in the room. I could feel his presence through our bond. His emotions. His happiness. His love. I smiled. For the first time in a long time, I didn't feel like I was fighting something inside myself. My wolf was quiet. Happy. She was curled up inside me, almost purring. “Mate.” I smiled. "Yes," I whispered. "Our mate." I sat up and stretched. Then something strange happened. The room suddenly became incredibly clear. I could hear everything. Someone walking down the hallway. A door opening three rooms away. Someone laughing downstairs. I could even hear the birds outside. I frowned. "What is happening?" My wolf stirred. Our powers are changing. I froze. "Our powers?" Before she could answer, there was a knock at the door. I looked toward it. "Come in." Morticia opened the door. "Good morning, Luna." I laughed. "Don't call me that yet. It still feels strange." She smiled. "You better get used to it. Everyone was talking about you last night." I climbed out of bed. "How is everyone?" "Happy. They haven't had a Luna ceremony in a long time. Especially one that happened so quickly." She walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. Then she looked at me carefully. "How are you feeling?" I hesitated. "Different." Her smile disappeared. "Different how?" "I can hear everything." She raised an eyebrow. "Everything?" I nodded. "I can hear people walking down the hallway. I can hear conversations downstairs. I can even hear the birds outside." Morticia stared at me. Then she stood. "You're going to have to tell Brady." "Why?" "Because that's not normal." I sighed. "Nothing about me is normal." Before she could answer, I suddenly felt something. A cold chill ran down my spine. My wolf immediately stood.” Someone is here.” I looked toward the window. "Who?" “I don't know.” Morticia noticed my expression. "What is it?" I held up my hand. "Someone is watching us." She immediately became serious. "Where?" I walked toward the window. I couldn't see anyone. But I could feel them. I closed my eyes. The world around me suddenly changed. I could see the trees. The clearing. The road outside the pack. Then I saw him. A man standing deep within the forest. He was watching the pack. Watching the castle. Watching us. My eyes snapped open. He's in the forest." Morticia grabbed her phone. "I'm calling Brady." "No." She looked at me. "Why?" "I want to know why he's here." I walked toward the door. Morticia grabbed my arm. "You're not going out there alone." "I'm not alone." I placed my hand over my stomach. "My wolf is with me." She shook her head. "That's not what I meant." I smiled. "I know." Before we could leave, Brady rushed through the door. "What's going on?" Morticia pointed at me. "She says someone is watching the pack." Brady's eyes immediately went to me. "Who?" "I don't know." "Where?" "The forest." He stepped closer. "Are you sure?" I nodded. "I saw him." Brady looked at Morticia. "Get the warriors." Morticia nodded and hurried out. Brady turned back toward me. "You're staying here." "No." "Bella." "I can help." "You don't know what you're dealing with." "Neither do you." He stared at me. I stepped closer. "I felt him before anyone else did." Brady's expression softened. "I know." "I need to understand what is happening to me." "We'll figure it out." "Together?" He smiled. "Always." He leaned down and kissed my forehead. Then suddenly, the bond between us flared. A wave of energy rushed through my body. I gasped. Brady stepped back. "Bella?" I looked at my hands. They were glowing. Not bright enough to light the room, but enough that we could both see something was happening. "What is this?" Brady didn't answer. My wolf whispered inside my head. “Remember who you are.” I closed my eyes. The glow disappeared. When I opened them again, Brady was staring at me. "What?" He shook his head. "Nothing." "Brady." "I've never seen anything like that." “Neither had I.” Then I heard something. A voice. Not through the mind-link. Not through my wolf. It was inside my head.”Bella.” I froze. "Did you hear that?" Brady frowned. "Hear what?" The voice came again. “They are coming for you.” My heart started pounding. "Who?" There was no answer. I looked toward the window again. The man in the forest was gone. But now I knew something. He hadn't been watching the pack. He had been watching me. And whoever sent him knew exactly what I was. I turned toward Brady. "We need to find out what's happening to me." He nodded. "We will." I reached for his hand. But before our fingers could touch, a loud howl echoed from the forest. Then another. Then another. Brady's expression changed. "That's not one of ours." Warriors started shouting outside. I looked at Brady. My wolf wasn't afraid. She was angry. “They're here.” I swallowed."Who?" My wolf growled. “The ones who know what we are.”
