Shadow Luna

CH.16

Colten POV

Finally! I finally have my Luna. She is everything that I could dreamed of and more. She stepped into her role beautifully. Its been only a week since the ceremony and she already have her office set up and taking in pack disputes. She is now the head she-wolf trainer and sees that all females know some sort of self-defense. She also made the pack house run smoother, helping with the cooking, and scheduling. And she has yet to miss reading to all the pups a story after dinner. She was the Luna this pack needed. Angelica was by her side, being the beta female, she assisted the Luna in everything. You can tell they work great as a team, both great fighters, and both respected leaders.

Now I see why the rogue Jason wanted my Bell to be his Luna.  She is special. I am also very worried that they are planning something big, and the image of her deceased fiancé is a key factor. Sean has already changed the rotation of the border patrol tripling our presence. Drew placed more motion activated sensors around territory. I am taking no chances of them taking my Luna. I was starring out my office window look down at my beautiful mate training when there was a knock o the door.

“Come in” I turning to face Sean.

“Colten you called?” He sarcastically bowed and I just roll my eyes and motion for him to sit.

“King Dexton called me and asked when the Luna and I will be visiting. Knowing him well I know that he wants to see me with in the next two weeks.” I say. Sean takes a deep breath and blows out with a sigh.

“Ok so when are you officially going, its going to be hard for the Luna and the pack if she leaves this soon.” Sean says with a hint of disappointment.

“I know, the pack loves her. We have a wonderful sense of normalcy and bliss. The pack is happier and stronger for it. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t cousins with the king. He could be a real pain in the ass.” I say leaning back on my chair rubbing my eyes. “So, we are leaving in two weeks and only for a weekend. The Pack can’t go longer than that without her.” I say looking back at Sean.

“Ok that sounds doable. So, who are you going to take and how many guards you need?” He asked.

“You are coming with me; we are leaving Drew in charge. I think we should take four guards with us. With Bell more in control of her abilities I am sure she would not want anymore security than necessary. Plus, the king is sending some of his warriors to escort us to and from his pack.”

“Ok sounds like we got everything covered then. We will go over last-minute patrol rotations as we come closer to that date.” He says nodding his head.   

 “Speaking of time, I think its time for Bell to show off her shadow skills, maybe we should join her in her game of keep away.” I say with an evil smirk. Sean just chuckles and shakes his head.

“Still unable to catch her I see.” He says.

“I am her mate; I should know how to catch her.” I say almost frustrated. Bell had the ability to hide and mold into the shadows. Nighttime is the worst, she virtually disappears. She can also harness the shadow and move objects.

“Face its man, she is uncatchable. But it is a good thing. She will be able to escape any enemy out there.” He said. He does have a point, but I want to be the only one able to catch her.

“Ok, but its good practice for everyone.” I say and we both get up and go.

After hours of trying to catch her she ends up tagging everyone but me. I knew she loved saving me for last. I sniff the air and stand perfectly still in wolf form. I see movement to my left. I can smell her faintly. I know she is close. Then I heard breaking of branches on top of me, I knew she was using the height to her advantage. I stay perfectly still just waiting for her to come to me. Then there was a wind blowing sound and I pounce to my left and barely grazed her. I knew the shadow was her feeling the tingles of our touch. I almost had her. Then her laugh echoed around me, taunting me. O she is so getting punished for taunting me. Then I felt it. She tagged me. Then she manifested in front of me in her ebony wolf. She was stunning and exotic. I know I lost, but losing to her was a win for me, I have a mate that was just perfection.

‘Almost got me there alpha, too bad you are the only one that can come this close.’ She mind linked me in a seductive voice. I gulped frozen on my spot admiring her. I hear her chuckle. ‘Come Colten, we should go back, maybe you can have a little dessert after dinner.’ She struts towards me wags her tail in my face and bolts back to the pack house. I took me a moment to come out of my trance before I chased after her. She knew how much I love to chase her. I was coming closer to her nipping at her hind legs.

After dinner I decided to come to the bedroom to wait for her. I would only take her twenty minutes for her to read to the pups and be back up. Then I sensed her before I smelled her. She walked in and was glowing. I think I had never seen her so happy.

“Hey handsome, where you waiting for me?” She said walking into her closet.

“Of course, my love, I will always wait for you.” I said, cheesy I know, but this woman just makes me that way. She comes out wearing a silk nightie. My jaw drops as I take her all in making me forget to tell her about our visit to the king.

“Well I am glade you don’t have to wait any longer.” She says making her way to me crawling her way on top of me and kissing me. I kiss her back and we start getting really heated.

“Wait…wait, I have to tell you something before we continue further.” I say breathlessly. She looks up and then sits back and straddles me.

“Ok, what’s wrong?” She asked worried.

“Nothing is wrong, I just wanted to let you know that we are going to visit the king in two weeks for that healing convention you thought up.” I said she looked at me relieved.

“Ok, sounds good, as long as there are not that many guards, I am sure the king would send some our way too. O, can I bring Lisa, Mindy, and Cam, they could really help me out in the support groups.” She said. I am sure that she was already planning on how this convention was going to go. Before she could get into action I got into action. I kissed her hard and long.

“Let me love you now, you can think about planning tomorrow” I say quickly eager to get back into our heat of the moment. This woman drives me wild as I make love to her all night long.
