I read the alphabet backwards a few times, but it didn’t help. If it did, I would be asleep by now. I had been rolling from one end of the bed to the other ever since Gideon woke me up. He did by knocking on my door.
If I had known that he didn’t have something very important to say to me, I would have ignored him and not gotten out of bed to attend to him as I did. My wolf said I ought to have allowed him to attend to his family emergency.
I didn’t feel bad for not allowing him to leave, even after my wolf said those words. He was supposed to watch over the mansion overnight, and if I had allowed him to leave, who would do the job?
