ELARA’S POV “Good morning, my queen,” I heard subconsciously. My eyes widened as I saw Jaxon sitting at the edge of the bed. A mild smile rested on his face, but I could see through it. It wasn’t real. I pushed myself up slowly while trying to understand why he was suddenly acting this way. “Did you sleep well?” he asked. The question threw me off. If it were in the past, I might have gotten used to this gentleness. But given how anxious he’s been lately, why has his attitude changed so drastically?
