I should have handled things differently. If only I had been more patient, I wouldn’t have found myself in this situation. I could have left for my house and come back to see Alpha Kael some other time.
“Kierra,” I kept calling her, and I was dying for a response.
My ear remained on her chest, I needed proof that she was still alive. I didn’t think that shoving her could render her lifeless. I didn’t take anyone’s life in my past life, so I didn’t know why this was happening.
