CHAPTER 13 We arrived at Amy's office building at 9:50 a.m.. It marked yet another weird experience for me, as I had been there the previous week to discuss my pending divorce. Host sat in the car for several minutes as though composing himself before heading into the building. Her office was in Overland Park, not far from my former home. She was a junior partner in a small firm of four attorneys. Their office was in a new five-story building that shimmered in the sunlight, given its floor to ceiling windows and metallic frame. The windows were heavily tinted to avoid creating a blinding reflection. Amy’s office was on the fourth floor. The first time I rode the elevator up, I was a mess. Linda’s filing for divorce was both shocking and devastating, as I felt we could have worked it out
