The drugs' effects were apparent soon after Lt. Gomez left. My thought processes became foggier. I could still think logically, but not as quickly. I was more mellow, which was good considering how on edge I had been since being killed.
The impact on Host, though, was hard to assess because he didn't move from his spot on the couch. He didn't even turn on the TV, just sat and stared at the blank screen.

The drugs should not have had a significant impact on Host until he took them for a few days. So, I did not expect an instant reaction. I may have been more sensitive to the effects as I knew what to anticipate.
At least he wasn't doing anything to harm himself or others. It also gave me a chance to think.
